In general, when you use a computer:Do not delete files when you don't understand their purpose. Ever.

Tannin42
@InkedVinny: Which version of Vortex are you running? This is not the same error as this topic is about, your problem is hopefully fixed in version 0.15.0 and newer.

Click the three dots in the upper right of Vortex and select About. The dialog that opens will display the exact version and it should read "VORTEX 0.15.1 TESTING" if you are on the most recent update.
ZenOokami
Adding to this - same problems - 2nd time this has happened. First time was after months of playing, this time was after 2 weeks since nuking from the first time. Vortex v0.14.3 Starts after playing and opening skyrim to see "<mod> is missing, continue with save?" upon loading a game. Close the game, open up Vortex, says things are installed.Try to uninstall/install - fails Pretty much snowballs downwards from there.
hajizuru
Same problems here... (or similar? not exactly the same...^^) I tried it many times with different mods (Dragon Age: Origins) but I the mods didn't work and I always got the same messages: "Failed to deploy mods" TypeError: expecting an array or an iterable object but got [object Null] at apiRejection (C:\Program Files\Black Tree Gaming Ltd\Vortex\resources\app.asar\node_modules\bluebird\js\release\promise.js:10:27) at MappingPromiseArray.init (C:\Program Files\Black Tree Gaming Ltd\Vortex\resources\app.asar\node_modules\bluebird\js\release\promise_array.js:63:19) at MappingPromiseArray._asyncInit (C:\Program Files\Black Tree Gaming Ltd\Vortex\resources\app.asar\node_modules\bluebird\js\release\map.js:30:10) at Async._drainQueue (C:\Program Files\Black Tree Gaming Ltd\Vortex\resources\app.asar\node_modules\bluebird\js\release\async.js:138:12) at Async._drainQueues (C:\Program Files\Black Tree Gaming Ltd\Vortex\resources\app.asar\node_modules\bluebird\js\release\async.js:143:10) at Async.drainQueues (C:\Program Files\Black Tree Gaming Ltd\Vortex\resources\app.asar\node_modules\bluebird\js\release\async.js:17:14) at <anonymous> I have still Vortex 0.14.3, and there are no updates or new download files on the website (since v.0.14.3 / 03May2018). How can I fix the problems and install & enable the mods, and how can I get the newest Vortex version 0.15.0 , please?

rmm200
I think Vortex needs more interlocks. I typically get this when I install a mod, and before it is finished, un-install a previous, not enabled version. Not that I can see any reason for Vortex trying to lock a file in the game directory if the mod is not enabled. My usual recourse for this situation is to exit Vortex and restart it. Everything runs fine if I wait until one operation is complete. The extreme deploy delays in 15.1 make everything harder...
