Wyrmspleen Posted March 6, 2018 Posted March 6, 2018 Fairly new to using mods Much of the configuration of mod settings for Skyrim SE is within the game, books found, powers, etc etc Is this mostly because nothing has been developed to configure mod settings outside of gameplay? Not really into internal mod configuration and wanted to know if this was the cause of so many of these options used within gameplay itself. Is there a way to configure mods outside of gameplay? (ineed, obis, wetandcold, etc etc) or is there likely to be development of a mod that will allow for this in the near future. I call this character configuration rather than player configuration. It has been some time that Skyrim SE has been released. Please advise. Thanks for any replies. V.
WastelandAssassin Posted March 6, 2018 Posted March 6, 2018 are you talking about changing these settings outside the game?because most of the mods you refer to don't use ini files . the settings are set inside the pluginstherefore , you could theoretically edit the plugins with the new settings , but only if you know what you are doingbut I doubt it would be advisable . using the configuration tools provided by the mod authors (be it MCM support , standalone tools or console commands) is probably the best way to configure these mods , especially if you aren't familiar with the mods if I misunderstood you , please explain what it is you are asking
Wyrmspleen Posted March 6, 2018 Author Posted March 6, 2018 Thanks for reply. Is there a MCM or similar available for Skyrim SE or in development that you or anyone else knows of? A tool to configure mods settings. Thanks
Grimolfr Posted March 6, 2018 Posted March 6, 2018 SKSE64, SkyUI and MCM are all released in some form for SSE (alpha, beta, etc.) Most likely, the versions of the plugins you're looking at were released before MCM functionality was released for SSE, so they did the in-game configuration menus so that they could get their mods released while waiting for MCM support. Some/most will release updates (eventually) with MCM configuration instead of in-game configuration. Some already have.
leonardo2 Posted March 6, 2018 Posted March 6, 2018 SkyUI is the mod that adds MCM, which requires to have SKSE64 installed and working.
Wyrmspleen Posted March 8, 2018 Author Posted March 8, 2018 Thanks for replies. Does anyone know if SKSE64 is going beta anytime in the near future? Is it stable in its current state for gaming? Might consider stepping back to Oldrim until some of the mods etc become more developed in this respect. Thanks again for replies, appreciated
