Changes that will come in the new version:

1. If you have killed Ingvi, Onmund can be talked to again after he takes his time to think about it, but do not expect him to be friends or lover with you.

2. You can skip even the intro of College of Winterhold and recruit Onmund immediately, which was really the only requirement to start the mod.

3. Tool for players to check if they can make further progress in Onmund's romance.

4. Rewrites for various lines, these lines will not affect your gameplay or change the story itself.

First of all, I'd like to thank everyone working on this project. It's such a lovely mod and I'm enjoying it very much so far. Thank you everyone for your hard work!

Also, I noticed some bugs ever since I started an Eye for an Eye. They are as follows:

  • Onmund walking off after Ingvi tells you to split up. He walks into a house and disappears.
  • The slaughterfish issue in the caves (tbh i find it funny that the slaughterfish are what break that quest)
  • Quest marker in the middle of the burning village not leading to anything. Even after all the magical thralls are defeated, it does not update. So it turns out there were some thralls hiding. haha nevermind!

I'm guessing my companion problems have got something to do with UFO. I'll retry the quest once I switch over to IAFT. Otherwise I'll just reload way back before I started the Winterhold quest line.

Hopefully the new patch will resolve most of my issues! I'm really enjoying this mod and I look forward to more updates. Thanks again!

Edit: Just entered the Magickal Realm and I have no clue where I'm supposed to go. :pinch: Did I miss a clue from the Dark Cave? Clairvoyance doesn't recognise looking for Ingvi as an active quest.

the tower in the middle. Just keep running around the base of the tower until you find the portal

Thanks for the tip! Turns out I didn't fully circle the tower haha

And another thing: I haven't gotten the option to give Onmund gifts at all. Can I actually go on the romance route without giving him gifts?

As far as I'm aware, the gifts give romance points each time you give him one, and there are romance score requirements for each event, the first date, the point you get new interactions and start discussing marriage. I don't know if it is possible to achieve the necessary romance score without giving gifts, I also would imagine that being unable to give him gifts, depending on the cause, may break other interactions with him. I would look at follower mods as I've had issues with them. Same with face retextures without a compatibility patch.

I have been receiving a lot of complaints about how I made the Thalmor "having both good and bad sides", "isn't completely racist", "doesn't pursue genocide of humanity for elven ascension".

In reality, I did not make the Thalmor a "good faction". You know what I based the Thalmor upon? Players who have talked to Onmund about the Thalmor's history will know, it is the Bolsheviks; in no way have they ever been the "good guys", however corrupt and vile their opponents (aristocrats/bourgeoisie) were - and however their partisans (Onmund/Bolsheviks) wanted to believe otherwise. It is quite a frustration to see players taking a character's words into full account and blame the author for creating a false reality that wasn't even real to begin with.

Many people seem to see the political climates of the Thalmor which I created in this simple way - racist (Cindarin), evil guys; not racist (Thindrel), supposed good guys. The truth is, if you have listened to Ingvi, the "racists" are only using race as an excuse to gain more power, and the "not racists" have also done terrible things to secure their own interests. They are not inherently good, or evil. They are just mortal beings struggling for a tiny bit more influence in their country.

As I have mentioned before, and for many times for good reasons, I chose to make the Thalmor a mortal faction which interests lie in mortal affairs such as politics and economy, instead of the commonly perceived terrorist organization which wants to destroy humanity and become gods, as told by MK. The reason behind my choice is simple - the "racist genocide card" is too overused and not innovative. Too many fantasy villains have tried to destroy humanity for their own race's ascension, and every time humanity would prevail and save themselves from those evil orcs or elves or aliens (or sometimes in some RPGs, the edgy bois can choose to let humanity die). The creators of those stories often attempt to model these villains after the Nazis, but they could not see beyond the Nazis' racism and totalitarianism, and had put as much effort into researching their source materials as they had put into shaping their villains' motive. The result is the many so-called "cartoon villains".

What really is the reason to experience a story, if you can already see through a character or faction's motives in the beginning, and know what will happen in the end?

What I see in the Thalmor's potential, is that they can be a faction contradicting the hero's belief and challenge the player's limits, that they can bring dynamics to the plot and create variables for the various parts where the player has to make a decision. These all cannot happen under a fixated "the Thalmor is evil" direction, therefore, I chose to do what I did.

However, that does not mean I have abandoned the Psijic Endeavor plot altogether. It is an excellent material that relates directly to the arch scope of the story (mortal struggles vs. divine will). But to shape the story that I wanted to tell, the Psijic Endeavor will have to be fulfilled by someone else, and for a different purpose.

You really don't need to be frustrated about it. Your characters and story are demanding and it is fun to experience how much of thought you put into these things and how deep your thoughts are. Bolsheviks - I could have known, that looks exactly like you

And your stuff causes controvers discussions. In my opinion it's the best an author can achieve. People just not only pass by, they talk about your creation and let you participate in their thoughts. It's a kind of honour, isn't it?

I always loved the way you're thinking and I encourage you to stay on that way and do exactly that thing you want to do.

Onmund's New Intro

Wonderful news!

After last your answer everything goes ok... BUT new problem appeared. I don't know what I doing wrong ;^;

There was a dialogue where the player can ask Onmund about marriage. I did not activate it because I wanted to discuss this theme after the main quest (Alduin, Sovngard etc.)

But Onmud have his own opinion about this and he want marry RIGHT NOW (he start talk about it, yes), because of that I used earlier save and everything was ok, but then I noticed that the marriage dialogue is gone (it was in those earlier save and it gone).

And now I do not know what to do to activate this dialogue now %)

Romance value - 117

Acceptance value - 47

I need to do more gifts, flirt and quest with him again? Or something else? %)

Will we have a second chance to kill Ingwi, without losing Onmund's friendship/love? I played very far from our last encounter and decided to see what another path shows. And now I'm terrified. I fought Ingwi and... What was that?! That's an awfull choice, and whatever was driving her mind during our fight, I'm now afraid of consequences more than ever. By the way, I looked at esp by TES5Edit and there was meant to be a dialogue after her defeat. Never had one and there was no trophy, I simply appeared near Onmund

By the way, Onmund is awesome! When he killed Thonar, I wanted to applaud, but Dovahkiin could only scold him( And his Dominion and "force peace" ideas disturb me... Will we have a chance to discuss it deeper on future updates? Just asking, too good companion to be indifferent "XD

One more question... Will we only choose between Dominion, Empire, Stormcloaks and destruction of everyone? Can we, I don't know, create our own faction? "If you want to get something done right, you have to do it yourself"... Even of you hate politics

Sorry, if my English is bad- I try my best, but I'm still learning

I won't spoil the story for you! But Ingvi will appear again and it is possible that she dies in that chapter.

It is possible that the player takes the Ruby Throne and rules the Empire, or the player helps the Thalmor conquer Tamriel - you already know these are the two possible endings, but how you get to those endings is what is truly interesting.
