Skyrim DLC Tease

I find it hard to care. I hate that Skyrim was built from the console down. Beth's attitude is "well, we'll release it using 1998 technology and let the fanboys polish it up'. Nice.

How about:

- Real multi-core support?

- DX11

- Uh FIX THE @%&^@*^ SHADOWS!

- A UI that wasn't built for thumb-tards

- True 64bit/LAA enabled and optimised code?

Don't get me started. DLC or not, I refuse to further $upport Beth until they get a decade. Or three.

BF3 was released using 1998 tech, and MW3 was built on 2004. DA2 was built on 2001 tech, same with Origins. No game uses modern day tech, they design the engine to look modern.

Shadows in a game are hard to complete, Dice failed to get the shadows right on BF3, you blend into a wall by turning into black outlines from a distance on a sniper scope. MW3 just did plain black or no shadows at all, depending on the area.

Everything Skyrim has failed on in it's engine is what a lot of other famous games are failing on too.

Oh! I wanted to point this pic out too!

Looks like something for a mid-evil game, like Skyrim. So this is obviously not Fallout 4 we're talking about, because FO4 would be coming in at least 2014 or 15, Dishonored isn't quite mid-evil, so the only game left on the list would be Skyrim.

Unless the picture had something to do with the 1.5 update that it was posted with.

Yeah, surprise, I have a Facebook.

Looks like Skyrim concept art to me, since there is clearly dragon script on the wall behind the large figure. If I had to guess, I'd guess this was an early concept for a word wall. Perhaps even the word wall in Ustengrav, in the big cavern with all the trees growing in it.

This game will have nothing to do with the Creation Engine most likely. Dishonored is being developed my Arkane Studios, not Bethesda Game Studios. The game is just being published by Bethesda Softworks. And judging by how long the first expansion pack for Oblivion was released (1 Year) then it's likely we might not be hearing much for a little while longer. Plus, Todd said that they were going to be going the Fallout 3 rout for their DLC's in Skyrim. Less DLC than Fallout, but a lot bigger in size. So we may have two expansions packs only, while the other extra content, like new killscams, graphical features and the like will be done through updates. I must say that this is the first game dev that I have run with that offers new content via updates. Pretty interesting, I think.

Also keep in mind that Shivering Isles was the last piece put out for Oblivion. So the team had been working on all the other stuff like horse armor, the new homes, Knights of the Nine and so on. I am not saying that it took them a whole year to do the Isles. So, if all they are going to release are expansions, then we may be hearing something new towards the end of this month, or maybe late next month if not longer. Who knows, though? Bethesda is just so unpredictable right now.

I dont recall them saying anything about fewer DLCs but larger in size. I do recall them saying smaller in size though. Things more akin to NotN
