Well no, but for any none MMO game you cant really say its died so much as its been played and most people have moved on. There are still a number of projects in development as previously mentioned by other members, I know for one there is a lovely seperately world space and multiple quests mod in development by Quetzlsacatanango that I can testify too be well worth playing when he decides to release it.

I have to admit, I just returned from Skyrim and it does feel like this game is dead.

I figured that people would be embracing the NMM but it seems like many mods are still not working properly with it. Many of the top 100 mods were top mods back when I first played so not a lot of change there. I'm just not finding a lot going on for FO:NV which is unfortunate, because I enjoy even more than Skyrim.

Talking only for myself:

I'm into another game atm (Last Remnant) after I "finished" Skyrim.

As soon as I'm done with it, I hope NV Redesigned 2 will be completed.

Then there will be the small problem of re-installing and modding the game.

I guess I'll penetrate you guys with a huge thread about bash-tags - because it'll be my "last ride" and there are so fukkin many mods that NEED to be included :D

I presume, there will be many endorsements during that time because I didn't even DL the new CL mod atm, which is by far one of the most impressive mods for FONV.

There is ONE possible positive effect: If the big mods are finalized, there is a possibility that something like nVamp could finally be realized.

But yup, the cicle of FONV is kinda damaged because of Skyrim.

Skyrim isn't as good as we all thought, but the modding-comunity already started to correct some issues (menu f.e.)

After playing Skyrim for 100 hours, I came back to New Vegas. Now peaking at 200 hours, I'm trying out all sorts of mods. I didn't start playing with mods till about 125 hours in so at the rate I'd be playing New Vegas for a long, long time.

  • 2 weeks later...

People come back to their sandboxes when they get bored of other.... sandboxes.... or MMO's.

My biggest regret from SW:ToR has been that the RP community surrounding the game has been horrible. [EDIT: and by HORRIBLE, I mean everyone creates guilds, Plvls and then maybe will RP afterwads... wtf is the point I ask you?]Also, they made it too easy to solo - you don't need to group and therefore no one does, and thats a huge mistake imho for an MMO. I play to have fun with small groups, adventure, RP and kick ass. This dynamic is now dead in new MMO's where people demand to be able to do everything themselves whenever they like.

/rant off.

Anyway - I'm checking out F:NV again for a bit of big game hunting sport.

no amount of mods can make new vegas good, the gameworld itself is lame, 95% of the map is just desert with a few shacks and lots of tents, the environment itself is boring as hell...no nooks and crannies to battle it out, or sneak around or explore etc. obsidian has a lot to learn about making gameworlds. what a joke new vegas is.
