Flyboarding

Next generation wingsuit designs incorporate four of these same hobby jets. It converts the suits from gliders into actual flying machines, with an added material cost of ~$30K. These flyboards hold enough fuel for a five minute flight, wingsuits can hold more. The jets moreless solve the takeoff/landing problems for wingsuits.

To HeyYou, with enough altitude balance is no longer an issue, pilots can do whole loops, fly upside down or whatever else without any threat of hitting anything. But the limited range of flyboards prevents their use for long distance or high altitude flying. Probably fortunately imo. Also the center of gravity can't get any worse with flyboards, you wouldn't want yourself going one way and the jets going another.

Funniest Youtube comment so far imo: "Maybe we can use these to avoid the problems of global warming." :D

They could be used to get in quick. Archaeologists could avoid treks through thick foliage and get into areas with difficult terrain so they can set up a dig site without trampling down plant life, and everything in between to get to the sites. Then grave robbers and artifacts hunters would be less likely to move in and disrupt the work early on so they could catalog and crate everything for air lifts. Using a Crane on a Huey to safely lift out anything being taken back to be studied.

He mentioned one possible use for the flyboard (emergency/rescue), I'd like to see a brainstorm on other possible uses. Offhand it would come in very handy for tree trimming.

Not so sure about that....... at least when you are in a bucket, or strapped to the tree, your saw getting stuck wouldn't be likely to cause you undo stress...... if you were not anchored at all though, it could become quite exciting. :D
