Tales of Faerun

Rhaine moved quickly but silently through the halls, so as not to wake the other acolytes. She burst into the nave, robes billowing as she did so.

"Nawen...Norgold," she said breathlessly, "I must speak with you."

She glanced at the statue. It remained in the stoic position it had always held, and yet she couldn't help but feel as though its closed eyes had settled upon her.

Nawen sat on the pew, still looking at the statue of Kelemvor. She heard what Norgold said about being curious as to who she really is. She said nothing to the dwarf just thought what should she do. What if this won't be the last time they talk. Sooner or later she should show herself and besides if the dwarf will try anything she knows how to defend. Even the nicest people can become vicious.

The drow stood up and glanced at Norgold. She still said nothing as she took off her hood. Her emerald eyes focused on the dwarf as she waited for his reaction... but then Rhaine appeared in the nave. She wanted to talk about something...

Norgold noticed that Nawen removed her hood. Her eyes were emerald color and her skin was greyish, he knew she must be a Drow, it was a rare sight to even see one. Norgold was going to say something before Rhaine burst into the room, a concern look came onto his face, "What do you need my friend?" He said, as he walked over to her.

Rhaine halted abruptly as she first beheld Nawen without her hood. So she was a Drow. The ranger risked much by exposing herself...especially in this city. Few people would look past her race to see the kindness that existed within, as she and Norgold had seen.

"Nawen...natha ilythiiri wun Waterdeep. Ele tlun Usstan naut brorn?" she commented, the dark elven language rolling off of her tongue as easily as surface elvish.

Nawen was surprised to hear Rhaine speaking drow so easily. Her comment however wasn't surprising. "Lu' vel'bol zhah nindel sieva ulu hass'l?" She replied. She never really wanted to learn drow language but Illius insisted to teach her because no matter what she is a drow and that the language might prove useful someday.

Rhaine laughed lightly as she reverted back to Common, "This city saw many troubles with the Drow in the not so distant past. And you are not the first to enter these walls disguised after such an event. Do not fear, Nawen. I don't think of you any less. Although, you should take care with the other priests and priestesses around here...they might not be so forgiving, despite our god's doctrine."

Nawen felt relieved that Rhaine wasn't trying to kick her out or attack and because both Norgold and Rhaine already saw who she really is, the drow put her hood back on. She knew what happened here in Waterdeep and at first she assumed that the half elven woman meant something like: yet another drow showed up in Waterdeep in attempts to repeat what had already happened before. "I... thank you." She said and glanced back at Rhaine. "You wanted to tell us something?"

Norgold didn't know how to speak Drow, due to the fact that he didn't think that he would meet one on his travels. He waited patiently until they switched back to common. He opened his pouch again, and took out the amulet. He didn't try to hide it this time, and brought the amulet to his chest. Norgold looked at the engravings as he thought to himself. He wrapped the chain around his neck and tied it off. "Yes, you seemed to be in a rush to tell us something..." Norgold said, looking at Rhaine with an interested look on his face.

Rhaine sighed as her thoughts returned to her nightmare, "Yes. You're not the only one having bad dreams now, Norgold. I just had one myself...though I'm more inclined to say it was a vision," she paused, looking back up at the silvered face of Kelemvor, "and the message was fairly clear."

She sat down on a pew, putting her head in her hand, "Undead are climbing out of the Underdark in the thousands...mostly simple reanimations of zombies and skeletons, but it could get worse. They've breached the surface, but I've no idea where. In any case, I am to find them and stop them - such is my lord's command. And I have significant reason to believe that you two are to aid me in this."

Nawen listened to what Rhaine told them. This sounds bad... really bad. "Of course we will help." Nawen said. She will sure as hells help to battle the undead. "If they're already on the surface it shouldn't be too hard to find them." Just like the living and animals undead also leaves tracks...
