Can you do it?

Are you hardcore enough to pull it off?

Kill Vivec with just 60 minutes, including Character Generation.

Total Rules:

1 hour, including everything, this means time runs even if your game locks (it will occur)

No level up (you can if you want, but I find it more fun killing Vivec when im level 1 :D)

60 mins starts ticking when you wake up on the boat.

No cheating, no mods, only clean Morrowind Install (tribunal and bloodmoon allowed to).

Im trying now on the PC version, no mods, no cheats.

Last night I did it on 67 minutes, but then, being my first attempt, I made a few mistakes...

To be honest, I didnt try seriously, I had no plan, no character pre-written. I just made it on the fly.

I made 2 major mistakes, 1 at character generation and 1 in "late-game".

1st mistake: Picked Orc (only because thats the only character I had never played.) This mistak cost me a lot, since everyone hated me and the "persuation" cost me plenty of money.

2nd mistake: Used a scroll of Almsivi Intervention to try to get to Vivecs Temple Faster, but I was to far away and ended up in Balmora :/ took me several minutes to get back to Vivec Foreign part.

I also made several minor mistakes:

1) Went to Balmora Temple to Buy 3 spells i never actually used: Almsivi intervention, Mark and Recall.

2) Tried to Persuade the Clothier in Balmora as an orc, costing me 240 gold to get he back to "40" which she was from beginning. Would have been cheaper to just buy the Exquisite Amulet and the Exquisite Ring (I needed those to kill Vivec, hint: these 2 artifacts was all I needed in the end).

3) Missed stop at Caldera to pick up my Alchemy Equipment, loosing me several minutes since I had to go back from Aurios, where I shop my ingredients.

4) Went all the way up to Caius Cosades when I only needed to cross the river and clean out all barrels/urns/boxes.

5) Also, I should have made a character once first and written it down. That would have saved me several minutes in the beginning.

Out of my control:

The game also died/locked 4 times, all during potion making or when drinking them to fast, costing me several minutes to start up again (I saved after every round of potion making just because I know the game hates my potion-gulping :D).

67 mins is ok, but I will try it again tonight, with a new optimized character and without the mistakes. I really want to go below an hour.

Well... Can YOU pull it off??

Post your results here.

Ill be posting my 2 artifacts here and hope you share your hints to.

After all, Vivec hates us all, doesn´t he? :D

Go go go, kill him as level 1, I challange you.

Dont forget to start your clocks at beginning of the game.

No One Here Is Hardcore Morrowinder?

C´mon, just give it your best shot.

New record holder has made it in 38 minutes, but thats on an X-box.

My best cap "With" vivecs soul to date is: 72 minutes.

I hope to go under 60 mins for that..

ill try it with a new char tonight, an Imperial Merchant with Enchant, Alchemy, Mercantile, Speechcraft and Destruction as majors. B)

The fastest time I ever got was 1 hr., 49 minutes, with vivic's soul

what i belive he means is that he traped his soul, most likely in a grand soul gem, or azura's star mabey(that would be a feat)? and most likely with a scroll of fygam's(sp?) gem-feeder

Here's my plan, which I'm too lazy to try right now:

Take the silt strider from Seyda Neen to Balmora. Along the way pick up a lockpick, some alchemical equipment, and a little money (not too hard to find). Then take the guild guide to Sadrith Mora. Run down the stairs into the shrine and buy as many ash yams, netch leather, and bloat as you can afford and whip yourself up some fortify intelligence potions. Drink most of them and sell the rest back for more ingredients. Repeat this as necessary until your intelligence is about 10,000, and should last a long time because the potions are long-lasting. Also make sure you sell enough potions to have maybe 800 gold. DO NOT wait or rest. Run back to the mages guild and take the guild guide to Vivec. Along the way pick up a destruction spell or two or a summon daedra, and a restore health spell or levitation spell. Run to the palace, pick the lock on the door (with 10,000 intelligence this should be no problem), and then fire spells at Vivec until the cows come home because you have so many magicka points you will never run out.
