Shakkara
I don't think it will be good. And I am not going to pay a monthly fee for a game anyway. Software should be free. Along with everything else.
Breton Thief Oriana
Well, technicly, there is a midle earth online. you can download the D2 midle earth mod and play it over B-net.
valdir
And the D2 mod is even worse that the real MEO. Pile of trash, and I'm happy to see that Daerk and Rynos agree. -val
Peregrine
Software should be free. Along with everything else. Perhaps in your ideal dream world (not connected to reality at all), it should be. Let's just ignore the fact that free software almost always lags behind profit motivated software in quality, development time, features, and everything else relevant. Games like MEO are a waste of money not because they cost money, but because they provide less quality for more money than countless other games. Dark0ne
I for one will be playing MEO irrespective of the uncanonical features. Just because its made for a wider audience than "Oh my god that Hobbit didn't have hair between his toes" Tolkien-megalo-fanatics, doesn't mean it won't be fun to play; plus having a world marginally resembling Middle-Earth inhabited with like minded Tolkien fans such as myself will only make the experience better. Admitedly Turbine seem to be screwing the license over, but heck they just want to make money - incase you haven't heard Vivendi are dying and noone's buying...they need money which can't be made from creating a game only accessable to the LotR-Bashers. I'll buy it, try it for the free month, then return the game within the first 10 days if it really is bad. Can't argue with that.
