"Place Everywhere" won't install.

The only other thing I can think of that would mess-up things is that you're installing a version of Place Everywhere that isn't for the FO4/F4SE version you're using. Place Everywhere has to correspond with the Fallout 4 Script Extender version it depends on.

And to make sure if the mod is installed yes or no, have a look in Data/F4SE/Plugins to see if these three fles are present: place.dll; place_example.ini and place_ini_help.txt (only the place.dll file is important).

Strange install path you've got there amigo... If I wouldn't know any better, I might start thinking you're fiddling on a nicked violin... but that surely isn't the case, now is it. If it is, then no wonder it sounds seriously out of tune...

https://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/windows/desktop/dd375731(v=vs.85).aspx will help you asign the keys in the place ini file you make from the example file that you rename to place.ini

You don't get it, do you?

I'm pressing the keys that correspond to the default controls! They aren't working! The mod simply isn't rendering in-game!

If I want to duplicate an object, I'm supposed to highlight that object and press the "insert" key by default, right? I can change the key to whatever I want, but the default key is "insert," right?

I'm pressing the damn insert button! IT'S NOT DOING ANYTHING!!!

The mod ... simply ... isn't ... installed!

I don't know how much more simply I can put that!

What are you on about, Stebb? Hitting the "Ins" key in workshop mode enables extra objects, i.e. you can scrap stuff that normally isn't scrappable. Duplicate Enabled is set to "Off" by default. You need to hit the "minus" key to enable it. Then it's the questionmark key (I think) that allows duplicating a higlighted object.

It's explained in the place_ini_help file amigo.

The insert key doesn't do that for me, either!

Well, have you tried hitting F8? F8 enables/disables Place Everywhere.

Yes, I tried that. It still doesn't work.

Okay, let's just have you try what I did first, since I was having this "issue" too:

Go to your Steam folder \steamapps\common\Fallout 4\Data\F4SE\Plugins

You should find either place.ini, place_example.ini, or both.

The Example file only matters if you *don't* have place.ini. If this is the case, make a copy of the example file and name it just place.ini.

Now, edit the place.ini file as I have here: https://pastebin.com/ENB9j8MK

You can even just overwrite everything in there.

Make sure F4SE is installed correctly, redo it if you have any doubts at all, can't hurt to be sure. (http://f4se.silverlock.org/)

If you have Hotkey Manager also installed, you'll want to edit the Hotkeys.ini file (Steam\steamapps\common\Fallout 4\Data) just to make sure nothing else is using the F-keys, since it'll override PlaceEverywhere. Note that iirc by default the F2 and F3 keys are set for some functions by default. I just changed it to Shift-F2 and Shift-F3.

Try it now, it should be working.

If not, is PE the only mod you have in NMM? If not is everything else working okay? If you've just installed NMM, use the newer version instead since the one the site links you to (0.65.0) has issues with FOMOD files. (https://github.com/Nexus-Mods/Nexus-Mod-Manager/releases/tag/0.65.3)

Lmk either way.

Good luck!

Huh?

I'm sorry. I'm trying. I really am. But that post honestly confuses me.

Should I just replace everything in my current place.ini file with the contents of that webpage?
