NPCs teleporting around custom cells.

What I'm noticing is that the NPCs who have travel packages assigned to sit down or lean on a wall are working fine. The ones that tend to teleport around are the ones who are supposed to be just travel to an x-marker and stay put. I guess if all else fails, I could just put chairs in the individual jail cells.

LOL ya ... I'm sure the prisoner would like a chair atleast ?!? what kind of heartless warden are you ?

There's also gotta be some kind of sit on the ground marker in the game too. I don't know if it's under furniture or an idle marker, but that one guy in Novac uses one near the one wrecked car inside the model's fence and Willow (from the companion mod of the same name) uses one in her bungalow.

It's literally called FloorSitMarker, haha.

 

I used it in that scene I was setting up some months back where that NPC was supposed to mourn by a corpse, grab something off of it, and then sit down. Not sure you remember that, Matt, but you and a few of the lads were in a thread trying to help me get it working (the mourning idle, not the sitting).

 

So it all comes full circle.

Hello Overseer,

I've had this exact same issue for weeks now and its been driving me insane but I know how to fix it

This is being caused by the FPS cap being set over 60 by a mod, causing the pathfinding to be broken

I was able to fix this by installing NVTF - New Vegas Tick Fix but more specifically (for my case) actually installing it correctly (putting all the files into the data-nvse-plugins folder)

I know that Th3Overseer has retired from Modding but for anyone else (and for me if I need it later) I hope this helped

(f*#@ this bug by the way legit ruined my sleep schedule trying to fix it)

Note, you can always put chairs (or concrete furniture) but set its size to 0.05 so no one can see them. But the animation is stll there, so NPC still sit on that location. This trick was introduced (that I notice) in Fallout 3 Point Lookout, and I use it in Megaton (set theme Prewar but dont want those chairs) and I notice the symptom.
