Maharg67
DC Torchwood One 12.1[18] Juno Base Mysteries Reinforcements arrived in the form of over 120 Brotherhood of Steel people, most being soldiers, but also over 40 basic duplicant android soldiers and 50 robots such as protectrons and carrierbots hauling extra equipment and supplies. Along with Steel Troopers in standard power armor were some heavy weapons fighters in heavy power armor and some scouts in lighter, more nimble power armor. Jack Harkness went scouting with some of the Scouts of Steel, they moving through areas who purpose was often confusing because Juno Base itself had suffered much confusion in the years preceding Doomsday. Stuff, from partly completed or non started projects, were haphazardly stored in chambers or even large hallways. It was clear that even valuable, very useful, items had been misplaced such as robots, androids, computer gear, biotech serums, prototype devices and much else. The group was shocked to find a large utility closet with a rack of zetan disintegrater rifles leaning against the back wall next to some mops and brooms. The Torchwood people were soon concerned about the Brotherhood of Steel's desire to take over Juno Base, or at least a large part of it, to secure it and to loot and-or make an outpost there. Gwen spoke of her fears that the Brothers of Steel would stir up far more than they could deal with, that Juno Base had worse to fear in it than the parasitic zetan like entities; how she knew this she was not sure except that she had begun to experience yet more vague disturbing dreams but this time not about the puppeteer parasites and their enslaved hosts (Puppetines). Knight-Marshal Erick Andler had taken over command from Lyons, which did not please her at all for she saw it still as a special operations mission which meant she should be in command. The much more orthodox thinking Andler saw the mission as no more than that of taking over an underground base for the use of the Brotherhood of Steel. Andler wanted to rush to complete the task while Lyons wished to go far more slowly and carefully. Edited January 25, 2014 by Maharg67
Maharg67
DC TorchwoodOne 12.2[19] Juno Base Mysteries Couriers came with bodyguards, from the DC Citadel of the Brotherhood of Steel, and Andler was quickly taken from command while Lyons was firmly placed in command of what was a Special Forces Operation. Clearly high command knew of Andler's weaknesses even though in most ways he was a fine commander. Andler was not pleased but, once the position was confirmed, he fully accepted what was happening. The Brotherhood of Steel was already planning to send some of the resources, from Juno Base, to the DC Citadel. This would be no easy task as there were Red. and Amber Sectors. between the two fortresses. There would be a good deal of planning to be done and also preparations both in the two bases and between them. Puppetines launched more attacks, mostly of their crazed victims, but they failed as gunfire wiped out the attackers before they could even get to a position to do any damage. Energy weapons were used for they took electricity from Juno Base and no ammunition was wasted. Pulselasers flashed pulsebeams and pulseblasters sent destructive pulses of energy. Almost abruptly, the attacks ended. Smaller teams went out exploring closer to the home-base area while one larger one was quickly prepared. It would use a main transportation way to go towards the Juno Base Core. Edited January 30, 2014 by Maharg67

Maharg67
DC TorchwoodOne 13.1[20] Juno Base Mysteries Torchwood people, and Lyons Troopers, went through areas oddly bare of resources, of technologies, except for more basic service-support network-systems and some security turrets easily dealt with. It was Jack Harkness who realized that it was a ruse and who found the secret hatch, with the help of other Torchwood people. The bare area was the cover for a network of core direction, coordination and supervision chambers for the whole of Juno Base. It was quite impressive and would have been more so if a brutal conflict had not left a good deal of hardware, and infrastructure, damaged. Destroyed, and deactivated damaged, robots lay scattered across a big chamber as did security guards in top grade security power armor. Enemy units were also there, all of them destroyed, and it did not take long for Jack to identify them as a variation of the cybermen. They had been copied, with mixed success, from the cybermen that had invaded the PreDoomsday Earth more than once. That is from the same universe and an alternate universe. These cybermen had much in common with Wastelands power armor and used the same kind of energy weapons to be used by certain elite factions in the Wastelands though they also had some unique tech. Jack looked around. "The battle took place a long time ago. There is something here that does not add up." Gwen indicated one of the cybermen. "Look at these many small holes in this cyberman." At least half of the elite security guards, cybermen and robots had perished not from fighting each other, it seemed, but from some other source of attack. Maharg67
DC TorchwoodOne 13.2[21]Juno Base Mysteries Feeling concerned, the group did some more looking around to find that much of the destroyed hardware was also riddled with tiny holes. It was Jack Harkness who began to 'sense' deepening danger and who led the group, in a hurry, out of that concealed area. Even as they sealed the heavy, hidden, armored hatch behind themselves they heard some strange, frightening sounds, of something striking against its other side. What ever it was it did not managed to get through the thick armor. They returned to the home base area to report the concealed section and the unknown threat there, to make sure others of the expedition did not try to go into that place. Maharg67
DC TorchwoodOne 14.1[22]Juno Base Mysteries One of the secondary groups, of Scouts of Steel, ran into a swarm of Puppetines and humans controlled badly by the parasitic monsters. Also with them were hulking supermutants of the smallest, most common, megamoth kind. They came roaring towards the scouts with a frenzy quite like their normal behavior. Firing their weapons, the power armored scouts fell back from the attackers. Battlerifles blazed as did pulselasers and other weapons including rocket-grenade launchers. One scouted used a zetan disintegrater rifle with much effectiveness, causing supermutants and humans to vanish in a weird sparkling manner to leave small heaps of softly glowing dust. As quickly as they could, the Scouts of Steel moved through the base, going back the way that they had come from. Then they were alone, were moving faster as the enemies stopped chasing them. Even as they escaped, they heard a light metallic buzzing noise, in the background, that was most disturbing for unknown reasons. Maharg67
DC TorchwoodOne 15.1[23]Juno Base Mysteries The dangerous parasites, in the tank, died as the expeditionary group also finished killing off the last of the Puppetines in the big chamber. The Brothers of Steel made it clear that there would be no mercy given to the creatures except three of them to be taken for research purposes. The faction was also after more resources and in the process of looting some special pieces of equipment and also some special supplies. Harkness frowned as the killing went on but could understand how the Brotherhood of Steel felt; they had been infiltrated by dangerous parasites than had caused the deaths of a few of their comrades and they wanted the threat to be neutralized. Gwen was standing next to him, also frowning but at the awful smell of parasites being killed, being burned. "This will be a big blow against the Puppetines!" "Maybe or maybe not!" Captain Jack Harkness shook his head a little. "Perhaps a small blow or a big blow but it has become clear to me that the puppet parasites are not the greatest threat here in Juno Base. Perhaps the ones, out in the Wastelands, were even trying to escape the real threat; that is if there is only one real threat. That is something greater than controlled humans, supermutants or cybermen." Gwen nodded. "The thing, what ever it is, that riddled the hidden command area with tiny holes, that killed those that had fought there. The strange buzzing noise?" Jack shook his head, again just a little as if unsure of his own response. "Yes, but I think that there is something else out there as well. Owen is aware of something that is not the thing that made so many very small holes in hardware and people. We need to be extremely care, especially in our assumptions."
