Maharg67
I would only know myself truly if I could give compassionate love to somebody like Hitler or Stalin! To love compassionately is to love with out judgement but is not to automatically to condone the actions of others! Compassionate love can be difficult to attain, to sustain, especially for those like Hitler or Stalin! Edited March 12, 2014 by Maharg67
Maharg67
DC TorchwoodOne 16.1[24]Juno Base Mysteries Alma came to the Captain Jack Harkness, in a bizarre psychic fashion full of horror. It was fortunate that Jack Harkness had already suffered many horrors, including psychic spiritual ones. As he stood inside the twisted reality of twitching corpses and rancid blood flowing down walls, he merely smiled. The blood soaked teen-adult, female with black hair in a blood stained dress and with blackest of eyes, scowled hatred at him. She spoke but not from her mouth. "You are as natural as I am, Jack Harkness. I would not have you here in my place, amongst my puppets and playthings where the metal worms do play. The things I could do to Gwen, aaahhh yes." Jack just sighed. "Alma is your name and I pity you. If it is a battle that you want, then it is a battle that you will have but I would not willingly kill somebody who is but a victim, a plaything, of an even more powerful and dangerous force. Do you fully remember me now? With FEAR (First Encounter Assault Recon) supersoldiers, we at Torchwood helped destroy a spot of corporate madness. We almost caught you, and we killed one of your insane psychic children. We did not want to but Paxton did not want to make matters easy." Alma smiled, showing blood stained sharp teeth. "That was not my true child but a pathetic clone thrown your way. The fools brought me here to Juno Base, all nicely frozen into stillness, but then somebody thawed me into lovely warmth so soaked with violence. After that I made the parasites escape and guided the first of the madness. I go now but we will meet again, of course, and I find a way to end you as a threat, deathless one." Then she was gone! Maharg67
Copied from Post #130 Reintroducing the story of 'The Curse of Quamaire' http://i592.photobucket.com/albums/tt9/Dragonpen61/Forum%20Additives/ce322fb4-0bc0-48ab-b7a3-5bc9ffb07539_zps7p9gtnde.jpg The Curse of QuamaireOne 24.1[24]{24} Hardly pleased to meet each other, members of the Mages Guild and the Necromancers Guild met in the Tamriellan city of Bruma. It was one of the primary cities of the Tamriellan Empire. The meeting was secret for various reasons, including that the Necromancers Guild was recently made illegal by the Empress herself. What was to be discussed was that powerful, alien, undeath energies had been detected by both guilds, along with others, and that even the necromancers were concerned. The undeathly energies were as alien to them as they were to those practising arcane, and elemental, magics. In the Imperial City a baby boy was being breast fed by his mother as two new servants came to assist her, both being elite warrior bodyguards in disguise.Across the Quamaire Islands there were people having the same kind of nightmares, seers seeing signs of dark things to come and mages detecting alien undeathly magics as had been detected by those on Tamriel. The baby girl, of Quamaire, was heavily protected in a special place and her training began in gentler and more subtle ways. They did so in the NetworkTowers which were being repaired, made fully functional and even being upgraded in some ways. The Aratoro people assisted, as they had been doing since they had befriended the Nocomer and friendly undead (nombies, skelets, nemphires and googlegangers). It was most important that the NetworkTowers be made more capable for survival sakes for those living there. EllessTane helped to cleanse valuable metals, of dark magical after effects, and began the making of some special magical items with the assistance of the Nocomer and some others. EllessTane also spent time talking with SazaTentacular and they exchanged knowledge despite some difficulties of communications. She learned that SazaTentacular had realized that it knew that the UndeathlyGod had been once a great ancient tentacular even much older, and more powerful, than SazaTentacular was. They had met briefly when SazaTentacular was much smaller, and younger, though quite huge by human standards. She had not even earned the right to a name, which was given only given to quite ancient Tentaculars. Yet there were large limits to what the great, very old, creature knew of the UndeathlyGod and how it had arisen from a true tentacular ancient. CaembraZiv oversaw the extended training of locals and basic training of other locals. Training was not just as warriors but as basic healers, observers and workers supporting warriors. It was at this time that the friendly undead gained the name of the nocodead though it was unclear who thought the new title up. It was at that time that 'new' secrets were discovered in the NetworkTowers themselves that would change much. Maharg67
DC TorchwoodOne 17.1[25]Juno Base Mysteries The realization that Alma was involved, the dark psychic spiritual entity that was shapeformed generally like a girl child, now appearing older than she once had but no less insanely dangerous, caused much concern with Torchwood. It was difficult to convince the Brothers of Steel just how dangerous was she for they had faced many scientific created and other horrors, including psychic ones, and felt they could deal with Alma easily enough. That is except for Liza Lyons and her people who had actually dealt with such dangers more directly and had more experience of such threats including scars. Marshal Liza Lyons stood and frowned hard at Marshal Andler who was speaking. "What is the fuss about? We (the Brotherhood of Steel) have dealt with powerful psykers before." Lyons shook her head. "The Brotherhood of Steel has datafiles on the Alma Crisis complete with limited information about Paxton, the Clonetroopers and Alma's spiritual monsters along with FEAR and Torchwood's combined operation against her after the use of more conventional Special Forces failed in a bloody mess. Alma can get into people's minds and mess with them, sometimes control them. Seems she was the one behind the escape of the zetan parasites that began so much madness, death and destruction. Perhaps she has been trying to control parasites, supermutants, cybermen and other entities in Juno Base. We are not immune to her threat of psychic influence." Captain Jack Harkness nodded. "While I was linked with Alma, in her projected real-false reality, I 'sensed' that she has become more subtle, more cunning, in her use of her powers but also stronger. That is she is even more dangerous, partly because she is no less sociopathically insane than she was when I last met her." It was clear that Andler was far from convinced. "We need to speed things up and get more access to Juno Base resources. Communications came of increased supermutant and Enclaven activities in DC. The Enclaven Stormtroopers are pushing into the DC from the North-West and the supermutants seem to be coming from TekVault087. There is also the damned DC Republic to deal with along with the Outcasts of Steel, the Exiles of Steel, the DC Syndicates, the Subwayers and the increasing threat of the Pack-Raiders." Lyons shook her head. "No, we will take matters carefully now that we know that Alma is in Juno Base along with other possible threats as linked with her." Adler nodded, as if accepting, but it was clear that he really did not accept the idea at all. Edited April 1, 2014 by Maharg67
Maharg67
http://i592.photobucket.com/albums/tt9/Dragonpen61/Forum%20Additives/ce322fb4-0bc0-48ab-b7a3-5bc9ffb07539_zps7p9gtnde.jpg The Curse of QuamaireOne 26.1[26]{26} LalaneTama came out into the sunlight of the island and saw, in the not too distance, the walls of the grand city of ZenrenQua that was the capital of the Aratorons. That was the good news but there was bad news for trails of smoke rose up from the fortified metropolis and, even from that distance, she could see that ZenrenQua was under siege by a large, powerful, military force. She, and her people, made their way along a dirt road until they got to a large village. They found there frightened refugees and a few warriors, magic users and others. Hunters had joined to fight against the enemy who were Tooze plus strange allies previously unknown to the Quamaire Islands. Relief came to LalaneTama when she found out that the siege was not going well for the besiegers. The Tooze and their allies did not like each other and apparently their fighters often fought each other. Yet she could not lose the feeling that something bad was going to happen, that the non-Tooze enemies were there to do more than fight. Around them the jungle was a moving battleground as Aratoron warriors, with their allies, fought Tooze warriors. In the night the Tooze often had zombies, and other undead creatures, serving them while the Aratorons had elemental entities summoned to assist them all hours of the day and night. LalaneTama sat in the village, in a large semi-enclosed structure of stone blocks and timber. She had become the local commander automatically simply because of her ranking and experience in battle. She also knew the area well because she had grown up there, had even been born in a village not very far from that one. Now all she had to do was get a message to the capital about what had been happening before she had left those still deep down underground at the NetworkTowers. Maharg67
Because I have too many stories on the go, I am going to erase Venture of the Celestial Serpent posts and replace them with poetry or what ever else that comes to mind as short works. Maharg67
DC TorchwoodOne 18.1[26]Juno Base Mysteries It was a surprise when Adler, and many of his followers, departed suddenly and took a large amount of equipment and supplies with them. Only the last moment intervention of Lyons, and other Brothers of Steel, stopped Adler from taking more. It was Jack who announced that Adler, and the others, seemed to be under some kind of psychic influence of great potency and subtlety. "Alma is influencing their minds!" Jack scowled. "I 'sense' that not only does she want them but that she needs them urgently. Surprisingly, I 'sense' that Alma is frightened of something. What do you know about Adler, and the others that went with him?" Lyons was angry because she had not had the numbers of soldiers, or firepower, to stop Adler from doing what he did. A firefight would have weakened both sides and left them more vulnerable to outside threats. "Adler joined the Brotherhood of Steel before our faction departed from California, and Nebraska, and came here to Washington DC in a great big air convoy. His followers joined when he did. He has always been a good soldier and he, and his people, have won many victories for the Brotherhood. They have always been more than a bit isolated from other Brothers of Steel." Gwen sighed. "Adler, and his followers, are all the same general build and of the same height. They are all men. They all have curious minds. I did not realize this until they all grouped together." Owen nodded. "They do not 'feel' like the other living Brothers of Steel. I can 'sense' things like that. As with Gwen, I did not discover this until they came together as a group." Jack cursed. "So at least some Clonetroopers survived and they most likely infiltrated the Brotherhood of Steel so that they could come to DC with the Lyons Faction. As Clonetroopers they would be drawn to Juno Base, they could not help it having Alma's genetic inheritance in them. Clonetroopers are supersoldiers but they never turned against the Brotherhood, or so you say." Lyons shook her head. "Not as far as I know but, considering what we just learned, some reinvestigating needs to be undertaken of Brotherhood history." Jack frowned. "Alma spoke of the dead Paxton as being a lesser clone so perhaps he is still around, which is not a pleasant idea. Yet if Paxton, the Clonetroopers and Alma are here, what about the FEAR supersoldiers?" Then they were there, with a flicker of motion, being thirteen black armor clad figures holding exotic looking black rifles (mostly) and also some other kinds of weapons. The only marks on them were the FEAR symbol and small rank markers. Edited March 29, 2014 by Maharg67
Maharg67
DC TorchwoodOne 19.1[27]Juno Base Mysteries Ironically it was not until that time that the Torchwood people realized, fully, that all of them had been enhanced mysteriously, in different ways, including the android. That is they were even more 'different' from the norm than they had been before. The FEAR Troopers, FTroopers, were reluctant to speak of their true nature, even to Torchwood people, but they admitted that something had done the same to them. They also spoke of something dark, malignant, alien having enhanced Alma, Paxton, the Clonetroopers and others now serving Alma. Were they puppets of two warring 'entities' or forces? The Brothers of Steel had to restructure their forces on the spot and reorganize what resources they had remaining to them. They still had much, including what came with Juno Base, but much that had been taken was of a more immediate practical nature. It was Brotherhood equipment, and supplies, as they could use with more ease. Jack, Lyons and Branburg (the new commander of the general Brothers of Steel), were holding yet one more meeting when the convoy of 20 hovering carrybots came out of seemingly nowhere. In them were equipment and supplies of a kind most useful for the Brotherhood of Steel to use. Everything was newly produced, even the food and drink, meaning there must have been some kind of active manufacturing, cultivation, complex in the area. Unless, of course, the stuff had been brought in from longer distance. Jack went over some more exotic items that had come with the carrybots; they were very advanced solid-state psychic defense devices enough for all of the expeditionary group, that remained, plus plenty of spares. Clearly the devices were very well designed to keep their secrets. Jack spoke even as he clipped a thin dull silvery band around his head and adjusted it. "Alma, and anything else of such nature, will have greater difficulty getting to our minds. The defensive devices will be more effective than the deflector devices which will be more effective against the offensive devices but all will be important in dealing with Alma and perhaps with what ever she is frightened off." Ava011a, Captain of the thirteen FTroopers there, spoke calmly, emotionlessly. "We must leave this place as a base of operations for Alma now knows where this is and can focus her attacks on it. More FEAR Troopers are coming, along with other FEAR people. We have sent a message, disguised as from a Brother of Steel, to the DC Citadel."
