Maharg67
Nobbits of Nobbiton of Shag is not a fanfiction though it is a 'take off' of the hobbits. It will have other such characters such as the 'hairy nosed dragons' and the noble snobbish beautiful elphs along with the nasty brutish mugger goblins. Do you think the story should continue in Maharg67's Den or be placed in its own story topic?

There were exotic Ghostmer, goblins, low flying like gremlins, defensive aggressive furry goblin like hoblins and others of an interesting variety. Perhaps the most interesting was a large group of Dwemer, descendents of the Dwemer that had once dwelt on Tamriel and in the Overworld. EllessTane asked questions, gathering any important information that she could get. The news was not good for it seemed that the Nameless God's armies were huge and had too many terrible creatures, warriors and weapons. The oddest news was the legions of palefanes, humans who were albino like but not actually undead. Yet the most common types of enemy were the many lichs, the greater number of vampires than lichs, the greater number of ghouls than vampires and the greater number of zombies than ghouls. A great project had been launched to better explore the caverns, to find anything useful that could be used and to clean up what could be cleaned up of the toxic messes and other troubling aspects of the environment. Temples, and other structures, were examined. The building up of defences was stepped up along with the building of roads and other infrastructure. Some structures were being fixed up to be used in varied ways. Newcomers brought resources of labour power, devices, knowledge, skills and others. There was some tension between some groups but nothing too serious as all there were very aware of the threat of the Nameless Enemy and the great need to keep an effective alliance against the Nameless Enemy. Then a group of shapeshifting doppelgangers attacked from within. Edited June 29, 2015 by Maharg67
Maharg67
http://i592.photobucket.com/albums/tt9/Dragonpen61/Forum%20Additives/ce322fb4-0bc0-48ab-b7a3-5bc9ffb07539_zps7p9gtnde.jpg The Curse of QuamaireOne 33.1[33]{33} The doppelgangers had come in with the refugees, they attacking the NetworkTowers as if aiming for specific parts of it. They seemed to know where its weaknesses lay except that things had been altered. Looking like individuals, of different peoples, they rushed in formation for certain targets. CaembraZiv led the counter attack, commanding the various forces well and using his infamous canniness. The fighting was savage but soon the doppelgangers were dead, dying or escaping using strange magics as they vanished seemingly in mid air. Those dead, or dying, became strange purple-pink humanoids laced with living crystal webwork. Then the attack was gone. EllessTane examined one of the dead things and then shook her head. "Undead servants of any undead powerful enough to master them, some doppelgangers served the Tooze PriestKings in long past wars. Except that something went wrong with the relationship when doppelgangers failed a major mission and the insane PriestKings tried to have them sacrificed. It would make horrible sense that such as doppelgangers would serve the vast undeath of the Nameless Enemy." It was not pleasant to know that they had yet one more kind of threat to deal with along with the other kinds of undead such as zombies, ghouls, vampires, lichs and wraiths. It was informative to discover that the creatures had known something of the NetworkTowers except not the changes made more recently. They had gained important information but not recently. CaembraZiv was deeply thoughtful of this and considered if somebody could have betrayed the people of the NetworkTowers. Yet if that was the case why wouldn't the doppelgangers have known of the changes? Security was one of his strongest skills and he was soon going over many possibilities. Maharg67
Nobbits of Nobbiton of ShagOne 2.1[2]Nobbits, in Very Important Central Grand Nobbit City, ran in all directions in terror. There was an awful howling as an amazingly quick living projectile, one legs, shot into the not very impressive looking area with its grand sounding name. Leggito, the fastest Nobbit of all time, shot into sight with amazing speed and almost bowled over a big fat pig. The oinker just managed to escape from being a ham explosion by digging a hole with incredible speed; its amazing what sheer terror can prompt a big fat pig to do.Leggito was incredibly fast but, unfortunately, suffered from being short sighted, long sighted and bouncy sighted. The last infliction meant that he sometimes found himself looking up his own nostrils.Leggito cried out. "Coming through! Nobbiton Fastest Courier Express."He began to go into his braking routine and dirt, stones and fossils began to fly in all directions along with a nobbit or two. Then he went into his usual tumbling roll, crying out in pain despite that he was covered from head to foot in padded leather.Leggito came to a sliding crash and found himself next to a big heap of stones, bricks and rubbish marked Important Central Grand Museum. Nobbits wanted to be seen as very cultured, by the rest of the Shag, but really had no ways to have it happen. So, being incredibly useless and lazy, they had made large heaps and put important sounding names on them. It never seemed to occur to the great majority of nobbits that anybody else could see through their 'trickiness'.Leggito smashed into three old, thick, mattresses of hard cloth and straw. A smart looking, actually smart nobbit stood there and sighed as Leggito fell onto his back onto another straw mattress. The smart nobbit, or toppit, was of one of a tiny minority of nobbits who were actually smart as compared to outsiders and not just with most nobbits. Her name was Snappito. She gently, but firmly, took a heavily padded courier package from Leggito and briefly inspected its contents. She ignored a canvas bag, marked 'fragile', full of broken rubbish. Most nobbits insisted on sending fragile items with Leggito but that just made 'nobbit sense'.Snappito smiled at Leggito, who was infatuated with her for she was very attractive even by the snooty standards of elphs. Yet there was her kindness also that drew him more. "Time for some nice beer and a snack, a hug and a kiss."Leggito ignored a few throbbing bruises and beamed happily. Maharg67
DC TorchwoodOne 33.1[49]Juno Base Mysteries The group returned to Juno Base but not through the abandoned subbunker for that was now of very questionable safety. Instead they found a way through various long abandoned utility tunnels and then a secondary security hatch into Juno Base. The group of Torchwood people and FTroopers was soon moving through an area that none of them seemed to have been to. It was mostly service-support network-systems, large humming machines and dimly lit spaces of drab metal surfaces. The group was made up of Pointman, Jack Harkness, Gwen, and Owen plus a squad of FTroopers, being four supersoldiers. A curious discovery was the overly large amount of refrigeration, and air-conditioning, network-systems that they were running into. What sort of research development projects would need such? The answer was to come soon and as a surprise but not before another surprise came to them. The sentrybot hummed into view and began to hammer away with a pair of 20mm autoguns. Then it became deactivated as an FTrooper, moving with seemingly impossible speed, dealt with it. The group began to zigzag through a 'maze' of tunnels as more sentrybots appeared, some armed with multiple barreled miniguns or pulselasers. Again and again the FTroopers dealt with the robots, striking and deactivating them. Pointman spoke. "Juno is guiding the robots though not directing their every move. He knows we are here and is not happy that we are. It seems we are too close to something that he very much wants to keep hidden from others. I can 'sense' that Juno is not just concerned about us but about a few different 'issues' confronting him." Suddenly they were in a big white chamber full of icy cold air. White machinery lined the walls and amongst them were cubes that were topped with triple transparent domes, one inside another, and over sized human like brains. Cables linked the brains with hidden components. Were they looking at Juno? Pointman answered the unspoken question. "This is not Juno proper but is his secondary network-systems running his service-support network-systems. This place is important to Juno but I suspect that, if he really had to do so, he could work with out it. We will do no damage unless forced to do so. I doubt Juno will attack us while we are in here." Juno did not attack but some other force did so! Edited May 6, 2014 by Maharg67
Maharg67
DC TorchwoodOne 33.2[50]Juno Base Mysteries They came floating through the air, quietly lifted by fanjets as a MrBot would be. The daleks were a metallic globe dotted with small domes and with a special sensor stalk, a heavy pulseblaster gun as a main weapon and a special telekinetic manipulation arm. Double jointed manipulator limbs could be extended out from opening ports to do various tasks and there were secondary weapons that could be added or tools or other or a combination. The group went into cover. Pointman scowled. "Davros of the GeniusThirteen is here or so I 'sense' through my psychic link with Juno. He looks like a deformed human inside a dalek like machine. He is an insane genius created through the disaster caused by one of his own foolish and highly illegal experiments; only the dalek like machine keeps him alive. The daleks are but one of his inventions but one of his most evil ones. Oddly enough he also helped invent some technologies that helped many millions of people. His daleks are based partly on the MrBot series of robots but he helped to develop the MrBots in the first place." Captain Jack Harkness scowled. "I have fought daleks. Torchwood had to deal with them here..." He looked surprised. "Memories are returning to me of a time that I did not even know happened. We, of Torchwood, fought daleks here in DC but we had zetans on our side in a wary alliance. The zetans abducted us from Juno Base but because we helped them fight a force of daleks, they let us free here in DC after healing and upgrading us. It seems not all zetan factions are terrible though none are truly good." Gwen had an odd expression on her face. "Yes, I am also remembering not just that time but the time we spent in the zetan's Mothership Zeta where three zetan factions were fighting each other for control over the mothership. We gained longer lifespans. There were some very dark times but also those that were not so troubling." The fighting began as the daleks fired but did so while trying not to hit any of the machinery or other parts of the network-systems in the chamber. The FTroopers hit back while also not trying to strike the machinery or dome enclosed brains. Five daleks came into the chamber but as quickly as they appeared, they retreated by reversing and were soon gone. Maharg67
DC TorchwoodOne 34.1[51]Juno Base Mysteries "Davros is most dangerous!" Captain Jack Harkness spoke as the group kept moving deeper into Juno Base. "His daleks have caused in DC before, hence my hazy memories of fighting them. They were cruder things, shaped like salt-shakers, that moved just above metal floors that they could not travel beyond. No, these floating daleks seem to be much more threatening. What makes daleks different from other cyborgs is that inside are terribly mutated creatures that have been genetically engineered. The daleks are with out conscious but are very territorial and consider themselves superior to all other lifeforms." Pointman shook his head. "That is all the poor world needs, on top of all of its other troubles. FEAR has also dealt with Davros, and his daleks. There are more than one kind of dalekmek, the machine bodies they use. FEAR found evidence of the now hovering 'salt-shakers' in the main bases that still use special metal floors to save energy, those floating things but also smaller, faster, ones along with larger, hulking, ones. They even have flying, amphibious, and stealth scout models. Whether the daleks have such a wide range of dalekmeks here is another question." They came upon a smashed dalekmek, a smaller globe of black colour with small odd silvery nobs on the outside. Pointman declared it to be a dalek stealth-scout. It had been blasted in a brutal skirmish and a sentrybot, also largely ruined, was facing it. The dalek creature was dead inside its dalekmek being a strange, twisted, octopus like thing with a large humanoid head at the top. "It appears that Juno may be at war with the daleks but does that mean Juno is fighting Davros, is at war with the GeniusThirteen?" Gwen pointed out as she took some recordings of the scene, focusing on the dalek. Recordings had often been taken during their time in DC. "Considering the nature of those in charge, I am not surprised that they have 'difficult relations' with each other." "Difficult relations?" Pointman grinned for a moment. "We need to know what others of the GeniusThirteen are here. We need more information on just what is going on." That was an understatement but slowly they were gaining a better picture of the situation in Juno Base. Edited May 14, 2014 by Maharg67

Maharg67
It has just recently been confirmed that I am diabetic, which explains my recent bouts of illness. I am going to attempt to keep up with my stories but will need to also deal with the new situation with my health. Even now I have nightmares of all the tasty things that I might not be able to eat in future. As yet I have yet to learn what diabetese type that I have. I am hoping for the type that is cured by eating lots of rich dark chocolate. Edited May 26, 2014 by Maharg67
Maharg67
DC TorchwoodOne 35.1[52]Juno Base Mysteries The group went deeper into Juno Base, moving through areas mainly more mundane being the normal areas typical of such a big underground base. Worker robots functioned there but were not hostile and the group had no sensible reason to attack them. MrHandys were fairly common but dumb-robots easily outnumbered them being guided by the local ZAX (smartcomputer-supercomputer network of network-systems). Juno was out there and so was Alma along with at least some members of the GeniusThirteen but what else was out there in Juno Base? They came upon robots fixing up, upgrading, an area but not all were directed by ZAX for there were odd smart-robots that soon revealed that they were known as clusterbots. They were multiple modular, very adaptable, very versatile and very independent as semiautonomous parts of roboclusters, hence their name of clusterbots. That one robocluster had lost contact with others but it knew that at least two had been heading upwards. The group knew that they would probably end up as part of the subway colony. The clusterbots were defensive aggressive only and had been trying to assist ZAXJB111 to return to full functionality. The chosen clusterbot spoke for the others, being a globe on a cube with double jointed legs ending in wheel-feet. The wheels could be used or the feet to walk with as long as the wheels were drawn up into sockets. "We clusterbots spoke with Juno and Juno said that he will not harm us. He told us to watch out for Alma and her followers. We fear to do anything that would have Juno turn against us for he might try to hurt us and ZAX our friend. The Mysterious Stranger came to us and helped us, helped ZAX, in many good ways. He left a message datachip for you, a very secure one because we got curious and tried to take a peek." Gwen stepped closer and bent over so her face was closer to the globe. "May I see you, please?" Part of the globe slid open as a panel to show a transparent inner panel; behind that there was a neobaby, a chubby muscular baby like entity with an oversized head even for a baby. It was comfortably, safely, emplaced inside a special chair. The neobaby was a cyborg. It did not take long for Gwen to get to kiss the 'robobaby' and to fuss over her. The small one was proud of her tiny robotic teddy-bear and her special hitech fake fart making module. Her invention of the fake fart making module (FFMM) had made her extra popular with the other robobabies and they all had their own versions now. She informed them that the robobabies were only one part of the clusterbots, sharing existence with smartcomputers and supercomputers.
