Deleted54170User
Odd! I feel I want to be a published author with work which is well liked because I actually became able to write good stories, of the sort, people want to talk about after they've read one of my stories. It would be an honor to find out another author read a story I wrote, even if only to put it down as a critic would, directing it to me so I could see if I had written even a scratch of creative worth. Are you inclined to that way of thinking too, or are you a published author puzzling through your mental masses of characters living in the cities you have created for them to live, in the subconscious terrain known as the inner mind? Living tangibly on the borders of insanity because, like Agatha Christie, there seems to be a real link to her words connecting her to her reality there too. That story about Hercule Period coming to her home to convince her not to kill him in her next story was fascinating. Have you read it?
Maharg67
Pagafyr, I have not read the story but I will do so now that you have mentioned it. I am in the process of writing a novel, with some teething problems, and there is a chance a publisher is already interested. For now I need to focus on getting the novel done. The working title is 'Zombies from the Sky' and some of the ideas, as I have written here in Druids Garden, will be either in the novel or will heavily influence the novel. I love reading your stuff mostly by flickering through it, going here and there. You have an amazing flood of ideas coming out of your mind. I find it almost overwhelming to read your writings at time because of the amazing amount of creativity and thought there. You are a very original writer, in many ways more original than myself. I suspect you would be an author with a relatively small but dedicated following. You need the right publisher to both appreciate and support you. As for editing, well that is the necessary curse of all writers when getting published. My Druids Garden writings lack more extensive editing so are different from my more fully edited works that are of higher quality. I am thinking of changing the way I writing in Druids Garden by having two topics, keeping this one as it is and having another with far fewer, longer term edited, works. Pagafyr, being a writer is more important than being an author. Firstly write for oneself and be enriched by that experience! Being a modern author has its down side like publicity clauses written into many publishing contracts and the hazards of any real level of fame. Also writing can too easily become more of a chore than a pleasure or one can be trapped into writing what people, the publisher, wants etc. When it comes down to it one needs to be happy with being, foremost, a writer. Sometimes writers have walked away from gaining publishing contracts for those very reasons.
Deleted54170User
It's grand news to read you may be a published writer soon. I hope you'll discover a liking for Ms. Christie's writings. I'm especially fond of her work, "The Mousetrap." Yesterday I visited my 93 year old Dad at his new home. After a few moments of reports to update him on the results of the research he started me on he gave me the order to stop. I no longer have any reason to continue writing, because I only use writing fiction and such to give some slack to the rope down my spine when my research dulls my senses. I'm no longer going to push my words of social fiction and sci-fi relief here. I'll probably fizzle out gradually writing bit on a blog site where Pagafyr is my title there too. I'll be leaving here now. Farewell Graham, Have a great Future!
Maharg67
Pagafyr, far well also and I hope that you also have a great future!Perhaps, one day, you will return to Druids Garden.

All of the expeditionary members wore the same kind of gear including special armoured backpacks. It was a good thing for the sludge water was highly toxic as was the weirdly glowing sludge moss growing on the waste water tunnel. The ancient Romanard Empire had built the first sewerage, and other, tunnel networks in London; they were some of the surviving tunnels and also some of the very deepest. It was said that the Romans stopped working on the tunnels, even stopped sending heavily armed-armoured Legionaries there, after too many mysterious vanishing and other dark events had taken place there. Still, they could see at times signs of ancient Romanard presence, and construction, at times. One chilling sign were ancient Romanard religious-spiritual wardings against evil and even stone emblems of religious-spiritual protection. Another chilling sign was that the marked wardings tended to be smeared over with what looked like long dried blood and the emblems were all broken as if struck with great force. Since the Romanard Empire's time in the region, so many centuries ago, there had only been a few attempted expeditions into the area; over half had vanished and the others all had dark stories to tell, often having lost members to 'things' of troubling evil. Before setting out, Sherlock Holmes had met with a survivor of the last such expedition to take place. The old man, who seemed much older than he was, was in an expensive insane asylum and was quite mad. It was Doctor Watson who, in the end, managed to get more out of the man, much to Holmes' annoyance. The horrible story that the man had recounted had caused the expeditionary members to bring as many resources, as they could bring with them, including as much valuable knowledge as they could get. So they brought special cartridges with silver bullets, psymage emblems, and other exotic but apparently useful items. They came upon the rotting, wizened, bodies of what might have once been humans or at least their ancestors might have been. They were stripped naked and floating either face down, or face up, in the toxic sludge water. Doctor Watson, and Sherlock Holmes, paused to examine one of the bodies. Yet even as they did the 'corpses' began to stir, to rise up. A series of carefully aimed, silenced, pistol shots to the toxic zombie heads killed them at once. Sherlock Holmes spoke, his voice muffled oddly by the power armour. "Already we find evidence linking this place with what is going on on the Isles of Mist. Some of our precautions have proven to be wise. Let us hope that we do not have to use all of them and that we have precautions enough against all that attack us." Doctor Watson responded. "Special power armour, or no special power armour, we need to get out of this highly toxic environment as soon as we can for I fear it was this that either caused, or helped to cause, the undeath of the zombies." Sherlock Holmes could only agree. Anyway they would be better off in larger spaces with out the slowing effect of the sludge water. Maharg67
http://i592.photobucket.com/albums/tt9/Dragonpen61/Forum%20Additives/4ddbee5f-b51c-499f-8430-fbd8c0c5f927_zps4aco3nrp.jpg Zombies from the Sky: Sixty-Eight New Episode Three 4.1[4]{71} Gliderpods, parachutepods, came down onto Freedom Island being lightly armoured and well sealed. In them were not zombiers but living original versions of the same. Even as they landed they made it clear they had no interest in attacking any locals. With their dazed minds, full of fears and other troubles, the soldiers spoke of deception, stupidity, desperation and madness. The leaders of their nation had been convinced to launch an airborne invasion, through the energy field, that would allow them to take a traditional enemy nation by surprise; a war had been raging on that alternative Earth and the nation was slowly losing. Now over half of the men, and women, were zombified and the others were seemingly stranded in the new realm. Many gliderpods, parachutepods, carried only equipment-supplies and a fair few of these landed on Freedom Island. Yet it was special hitech modules that were to be of most interest to the lesser immortals, and others, on the island. For some of them promised to help solve the mysteries, the real threat, that they all faced; they were exotic, specialised to an amazing degree, and were not the kind of equipment normally associated with military forces or actions. Professor Arnie Vezzati, and Lecturer Annie Vezzati, examined something that they called a trans-dimensional osculation wave recession detector' and the daughter spoke. "The science, the engineering, behind this mechanism is way beyond the standard technologies used by the Panjamari soldier, as the other exotic devices that came with them. The soldiers, including the highest ranking non-zombified ones, have no idea how they came to be part of the expedition. All that the highest ranking officers know is that, at the last moment, the exotic module parachutepods, and gliderpods, were added with out warning or any details given to them." She went on to other leaders, advisers, gathered with her father and herself. "The Panjamari soldiers chosen, for the mission, were a mixture of troublesome questioners of the war, petty criminals, and others that the Panjamari Government would not miss. In other words the autocratic Panjamari President sent expendable forces or at least what he saw as expendable soldiers. The Panjamari Republic is militaristic, aggressive, greedy, corrupt, and seems to be the villain in the war it is fighting with the other nation; so much so that other nations are going to join in the war against it. The Panjarmarians dwell on a cluster of islands that is in some ways like the Isles of Mist and I suspect that this is no coincidence." She continued on. "Question is why was the exotic tech sent and who, what, was it intended for." It was a good pair of questions but answers would not be easy, or quick, to come by. Maharg67
http://i592.photobucket.com/albums/tt9/Dragonpen61/Forum%20Additives/4ddbee5f-b51c-499f-8430-fbd8c0c5f927_zps4aco3nrp.jpg Zombies from the Sky: Sixty-Nine New Episode Three 5.1[5]{72} Professor Arnie Vezzati, and Lecturer Annie Vezzati, studied the exotic modules with the assistance of Professor Walter Zand and others. The Oracle took a look at them and advised that they needed to have her father examine them. Then she revealed that living Panjamari paratroopers had also landed in other places of the Isles of Mist, being mostly where undead Panjamari soldiers had dropped. This included the island where Professor Frankenstein, and others, still fought to survive in their citadel. Panjamari soldiers had fought their way to the citadel, with the assistance of local forces, taking with them what Panjamari stuff they could. This turned out to include some of the exotic modules that Professor Frankenstein, along with others there, had already examined. The Oracle stood facing a group of Freedom Island leaders, aides, consultants, and others. "My father has already gained some very disturbing find from analysing the few exotic modules brought to the Citadel. The exotic devices are not only extremely advanced but are highly unstable and directed at working with three areas; the first is relative localised reality manipulation, the second is to do with various facets of transdimensional relativity, and the third is the realm of reanimation of the dead and undeath. His understanding that the arrival of those devices is far from being accidental. Instead they are linked to what is happening to both the Isles of Mist and to the world at large. He wants to examine our exotic devices to see if we have other kinds that might indicate more of what is really taking place. He offers to visit us here when he can but will send some of the devices before that." Walter Zand smiled. "That is excellent and exciting. I have never seen such amazing technologies before." Annie spoke. "Father, and I, have more primitive versions of such technologies safely archived in our secret underground mansion that is fairly close to London. Perhaps it is time that we used those amazing ancient technologies to help get us back home, for just a while, to gather resources and do some study. Then we will return." Captain ManMonster spoke out. "It makes great sense to do so. We need knowledge as much as anything else, especially more esoteric stuff. In my journeys, and other adventures, I met a man who could us. His name is Captain Nemo and he, along with his supersubmarine, are very close to Freedom Island right at this moment. I will introduce him to you." But it turned out a few, there, had met him and not all were pleased that he had come to the Isles of Mist.
