endorsements can be given to mods you are using , 3 hours after downloading a file from the mod's page

so you can download a mod to whatever game , and a short while later you can endorse it , and this will count towards your Endorsements Given

if you want to receive endorsements , you'll need to create and upload a mod

 

as for kudos , this is basically saying thank you to someone , for whatever you want

for example , I am trying to help people around on the forums . sometimes people decide to show their appreciation by giving a kudos , to say thanks for the help

you can give kudos to whoever you want , for whatever reason you want

if you want to receive some , you'll need people to give them to you , for whatever reason they may wish to do so

you can try making a mod , usually successful modders receive a lot of kudos for their work , but don't expect it to be easy

For reference, there actually was a "give kudos" function on every post a member made in the long ago past, I remember. Nowadays Kudos can only be given from the member's file site profile page anymore.

 

But it's worth keeping in mind, you can only give kudos to a specific member once, just like you can only endorse a specific mod once. If you try again after you already gave a kudos or endorsed, the button will be taking it away again instead. It usually will tell so by changing its text, but if you're in a hurry, don't be surprised when it happened after you clicked again.

 

The statistics on your own file site profile page keep track of how many endorsements you've given to others' mods and how many others have given you a kudos.

 

 

(I personally am not a fan of endorsements. I prefer honest feedback over an inexpressive "tap on the back" at any time. But I value them for what they are mostly used as, too, a way to say thanks without actually saying anything. And last but not least, endorsements are the primarily used metric for sorting mods in search results or top lists. So while it doesn't give away any meaning as for "why" the mod got the endorsement, as everybody's giving these for their own reasons or just for fun, it's still a metric of "popularity", for the most popular mods will have the most endorsements. What this means to anybody, everybody has to decide for their own. But the site made it the primary metric, so in a way they are quite important now, if you want your work to even be seen/found.)

Can confirm it is indeed working. I get the reminder at least once per day myself.

Yes, it works. Sometimes when I forget (which isn't all too often) I get a reminder a few hours later, despite the fact I've set the reminder to remind me after a week.

 

An endorsement to a mod can be given fifteen minutes after downloading, by the way, not after three hours.
