AstroGazer
For a movie to succeed after a game it has to follow the game. The people interested in seeing these kind of movies are the gamers and friends. For a movie of skyrim it needs to follow the game quest effect. It needs to refer back to what happened in the game. It would probably be in 3 parts to tell the whole story. Most important the character has to be almost indestructable. Viewers are tired of seeing dumb actors that seem to not be able to think and get their toes stepped on and coward away. Face it - when you play the game you never run from a fight, always look for the best weapons, best armour, and the scariest dungeons. Perhaps a movie to finally show what really happened to the Dwarves or the Dragon Priests.
xlcr
Skyrim/TES movie would be successful given the huge fanbase and already proven money maker (we're talking millions made). Existing wealth of lore, quests, characters and created TES worlds are a goldmine for interesting storytelling ideas.Easy to visualize scenes with good actors/fx folks recreating clearing an ancient dwemer ruin, nord crypt, necromancer/werewolf/vampire dungeon.Dragon/monster attacks are a given, throw in the Thalmor/bandits/Imperials/Stormclocks there are plenty of potential battle opportunities.A versatile dragonborn, lively followers, and truly evil bad guy characters offer almost unlimited possibilities for a cast. With all the guilds, factions and politics there could be some interesting plots portrayed on screen.Could be a CGI extravaganza since digitized objects already exist, dialup the meshes/textures to ludicrious rendering maximum and create kickass animations.Screenplay probably better left out of Bethesda's hands given the somewhat shallow quality of Skyrim's current dialog lol.Anyway, I'd watch this being a fantasy/scifi fan like many people. pimpingreenhat
TES is like CODMW, they need a movie following the whole series. COD MW series was set up in a cinematic way and would be perfect for a movie. Same with TES, start with Arena, Daggerfall, Redguard, Battlespire, Morrowind, Oblivion, then finish with Skyrim. (Combine Arena and Daggerfall; Redguard and Battlespire; Morrowind and end with a cliffhanger for the first half of Oblivion, end Oblivion and Skyrim) ...What?First off, the Modern Warfare series pretty much is a series of movies, but the player gets to shoot. Fine. The Elder Scrolls provides a key element that would make any movie terrible: choice. The player gets to choose what to do and where to go, who to kill, who to befriend, etc. You'd have a billion movies being made for each possible character. steeleyedblue
this thought should never have happened.... TES as a movie pffft think of E.T. (the atari game, not the movie) k? now imagine how well that game did...... A TES movie would have even a worse fate than that and as such should never happen.... ppl just dont have 10 hours of time to devote themselves to a skyrim/TES movie because thats how long the movie would be.... There is no need for a movie to follow the storylines of any particular game.
JarlWilhelm
I just hope that no one makes a movie based solely on one of the games. This would be a huge mistake as the only people who would see it would be the current fans of the series, and they would all despise the movie as it would inevitably not hold true to their ideal of the game. The Elder Scrolls has a very rich and detailed history which dates well before the first game, Arena, even starts. This covers the events of the Dawn Era, Merethic Era, the First and Second Eras and the Third Era up to the beginning of Arena. Having movies made of these eras would benefit Bethesda greatly, if done well, as it would potentially create a new fanbase that would then play the games and or purchase merchandise. People who are not currently familiar with the original game series could appreciate the films without any prior knowledge of The Elder Scrolls Universe. Enatiomorph
There hasn't been any rumors of an ES movie...ever. An ES movie would work though, if done right. Edited October 16, 2012 by Enatiomorph
Deleted472477User
Another issues is it seems to me that if they have a good script and director (Like Joss Whedon with World of Warcraft, which is stuck in limbo) it ends up in Development Hell. If it's some buttclown like Uwe Boll, it gets greenlit, filmed, and released. So if there was an Elder Scrolls movie, it would either languish forever, or be done and be a piece of steaming poo :(

They can turn out s*** video game movies because they dont try. Trying, actually makes you stumble.
