Vault 76 NEW thoughts

What if that's why it's named "Vault 76." It's not named FO5. It's a wholly different game.

If you think about it, it wasn't named by accident. It wasn't even named as Fallout.

It's not called Vault 76, it's called Fallout 76. I highly doubt it's going to support more than 8 players or so. I can't see the creation engine being able to handle the larger numbers in something like Rust or Ark, those worlds are incredibly simple compared to what we see from Bethesda's engine. If there is multiplayer at all expect it to be coop, or at least small scale.

What I could imagine is something like what No Man's Sky attempted, where people can upload their settlement designs and they'll be chosen from randomly to appear in your game, so every settlement is pre-built and different for every character you play. That might be a reason to block at least some mods.

Why assume they're going to limit themselves to CK engine. They could be using a bastardized derivative of ESO for all we know. That would be the easiest way to create critical mass of players in an online scenario. Need critical mass of players to make $$$ profit from whatever restricted mods they have limited to CC. Then its just a matter of working in the Lootboxes into the game from there.

Regardless, should it ever devolve to the PvP grind/snoozefest that is ESO, they can kiss my highly disposable income goodbye......

Just going off of the trailer it appears to be the same base engine as FO4. It seems to have the same lighting and material rendering. I would be incredibly surprised if a BGS side project introduced an entirely new engine. They've spent a lot of time refining their creative process with the Creation Engine.

Well, if it is entirely online then I can't see there being a modding community outside of Creation Club. And I would be curious what magic stim Todd has that is going to keep those who want to play single player from being griefed. I can just hear it now, when complaints come in their only response will be it is working as intended.

Apparently it can be played as a single player game, though I don't like the indication that "you," make the villains and heroes. To me it says they can't be bothered to make a coherent story, so just use your imagination! :D

If modding is as supportive as FO4 was, I'm cool with this. I can't imagine Bethesda taking away that feature, from the community, that has kept their games popular well beyond release.

Single or multi-player, but online only. I hate when they say all platforms, to me that includes pc and console release for personal use only, not just mmo-type online. I'll keep hoping I'm wrong...I was watching the announcement live, but got interrupted and missed bits of it. However, it's all over the 'net now.
