Vault 76, What will make you give it a chance?

Ok, I know its very easy to go negative on vault 76. Lets try and find the bare minimum of features needed for us to try it.

- Private servers (Yes, they promised it, but until they put it in darned if I will purchase the game)

- More information on how pvp is handled. I don't want to deal with griefers.

- Is there text chat? If they are making folks use mic's its a huge turn off for me. I don't want to listen to folks brag about their wang size, or listen to folks with accents impossible to understand. (Basically asking for standard mmo chat controls)

- Information about how modifiable the game is. I don't want to be forced into using their marketplace.

Those are my main issues, I can deal with the lack of npcs, provided they actually follow through with decent holo-tape quests. A far smaller concern is also naming conventions. I really don't want to see lots of Preston Garvey's in my game. That garbage gives my immersion a good defenestration .

The things that make me want to give it a chance are, Fallout, Bethesda game and a mod enabled game.

I do have concerns like many others.

*multi player* *always online* *regular updates possibly breaking the game* *micro transactions and the inevitable advertising in game* *morally I don't like the idea that to complete the game story, nuclear missiles have to be launched to 'seal up' fissures in the earth from which the scorch beasts are emerging*

I may wait a cpl years to buy it on sale, I may not. I just don't know yet.

Basically I like the setup about being let out of the vault a mere 20 years after the bombs fell. A new game world 4 times FO4 sounds good. And that's about it!

Multiplayer is an absolute no-go for me. As is "always on-line" I play with Steam off-line as it is in order to avoid being bushwhacked by a feral patch.

Single player with a good story, decent NPCs and a lot of dark humor. Where's Black Isle when you need them............ (Yes - I know they're long gone. But I miss them)

So far everything points to regular BGS-style moddability. With the restriction that there won't be private servers until the CK hits, which is somewhere in the first year after release. I assume they will release a standalone server binary for that but who knows. Without that, script extenders are likely a no-go zone.

I'll try to stay neutral so far. If it turns out to be decent I might pick it up and even build a mod or two.

Bethesda just saved me $60 that I can spend on buying 'Shadow of the Tomb Raider'.

-A singleplayer mode for what I don't need to be online.

-Full support for mods.

-That it runs on my system.

That can be a bit tricky because my system runs with a gtx 750 ti^^.

It depends on a number of factors before I even think about buying Fallout 76. First and foremost, will this be one massive server that everyone can kill you when you step out of the vault? Or will there be a menu of options that allow you to select things, like you want all PVE options and zero PVP? Or PVP in just certain, safe areas? Or what? Second, if I unplug my ethernet cable from my computer, can I still play the game, without anyone else there, or even an online connection? Third, can I turn off certain things I don't want, like the Creation Club, or ads in game? And can mods be made that look similar to what Creation Club makes, but is actually better?
