OrganicView
Hi everybody,I would first apologize for english mistakes and misunderstands, it's not my native language. As I made mods with the CS and the GECK, I wanted to try to make mods with Skyrim. But the creation kit crashes when I launch it ( Creation kit.exe is not responding ), always at the step "initialize windows". I tried everything I found on the Internet :- Remove ENB ( and d3d9.dll )- Launch with Steam online or in offline mode- Reinstall both Skyrim and CK- Make sure everything is upgraded - Localized version .ini tweaks And it still doesn't work :( So, if anyone has the solution... Thank you =)
steve40
Try this: 1) Right-click on your Skyrim folder. Choose Properties. Go to the Security tab. Change the User permissions so that all users have FULL CONTROL of the Skyrim folder. When asked, choose to propagate these permissions to subfolders as well.2) Right-click on the CK executable. In the Compatibility tab, select to Run as Administrator. Edited May 28, 2012 by steve40
2funkytown
It takes a while for it to start up, there's a lot of data it has to load. Give it a few minutes, click 'yes to all' when prompted, and eventually it'll act normally. GECK is the same way.

PG1
ENB should be loaded in your Skyrim Folder /Program Files (x86)/Steam/Steamapps/Skyrim. (or some variant of that). This is a shot in the dark but make sure you installed the Creation Kit in the same place as your Skyrim installation. I've got Skyrim on an SSD and Steam automatically set the Creation Kit to install in the main Steam folder on one of my HDDs and therefore wouldn't load until I reinstalled the Creation Kit and set the installation directory during the setup to the same as Skyrim.
