Mods "reinstall" on every load

I just want to f*ing play!

 

 

For the past three hours I have been trying to figure out why each AND EVERY time I load a save (a fresh save, less than 10min) ALL MY MODS REINSTALL! And by that I mean pop up messages as if I just enabled them for the first time. If I wait and click through all of them until there are no more messages, save, exit. load the save... it happens all over again. Any cosmetics (hair, etc) are gone (bald head).

 

I have tried completely deleting my FO4 user folder and letting the program create new ini's, verified the game folder with steam, turned mods on and off in Vortex... NOTHING WORKS.

 

Could someone please help me out?

I'm guessing your Plugins.txt file isn't being read and/or written to properly, so every time you start the game, it finds the mods as if they're brand new.
I only see a quick mention of Vortex, so I have to assume you've been using that to install mods?

If so, are you ENABLING the Mods? Deploying them?

I'm only going by what little specific information you've given, so I can only guess at this point

I was enabling my mods, but for some reason, my plugins.txt file got read-locked by my OS. Had to delete it as I could not even open or copy the sucker. Now all my mods are out of order. I spent DAYS working on load order now it's all gone AND I got a s#*! ton of updates to do as the game updated.

 

I need to take a serious look at my mods, find the ones that are most stable and have not changed in a very long time and create large merges. Maybe remove some of the redundant ones (I was comparing some, like teleport mods). But what I got now is just not sustainable. Days of not playing just to get the mod order right? That's insane. Why am I doing this to myself?
