shadowfx78 Posted May 19, 2012 Share Posted May 19, 2012 (edited) Upon trying to install Morrowind GOTY the installer gets to 88% and then gives me a Component Transfer Error about data2.cab and it have a cyclic redundancy check error. how can i fix this? the disc is in good condition and just cleaned all three with glass cleaner and toilet paper to remove any dust and debris. Themisive Posted May 20, 2012 Share Posted May 20, 2012 Glad you managed to get it sorted out, the original problem probably lay with a dirty CD or DVD! Rennn Posted May 21, 2012 Share Posted May 21, 2012 I'm pretty sure you're not supposed to use corrosive liquid cleaners on disks, so that's something you probably shouldn't have done. I'm glad you found an alternative though, just a heads-up for the next time something like this happens, it may be the result of cleaning disks with something besides a dry soft cloth.
