OneOhOne
I haven't been in this forum long so I'm sorry if this is a recurring idea.In Fallout 3, many, if not all of the prewar clothes are dirty, and there's all this laundry detergent just laying around, but not a single washing machine to be found ANYWHERE. So I was wondering if it would be possible to make one. It would work similar to a work bench, you put in your detergent and your dirty clothes, and voila. You have a nice freshly cleaned suit. Simple right? I would do it myself, but I've never modded anything before and wouldn't know where to start
bben46
I don't believe I have ever seen this suggestion before. I like it.
bfg10k17
The mod DC Interiors had washing machines and dryers, they just didn't function.Maybe contact the author of that mod ?
bethjunkie
CRAFT- Clutter Conversion System has a setup where you can combine a few dirty versions of vanilla outfits with crafted soap suds to create clean versions of them.

I like this, but I'm looking for an added dimension of realism, I actually want to have to use a washing machine, rather than the workbench
VictorianApocolypse
Haha, brilliant! It's never mentioned, but Bethesda purposely added the detergent alongside the dirty clothing for the sake of scientific experimentation. They wanted to test out a new form of torture, mainly intended for monkey spies from Bermuda's hidden eighth island. The monkeys were cannibalizing all living matter for the sake of their deathray, and Bethesda was chosen to find a way to get information from their monkey minions that were captured. Bethesda decided to experiment on their gamers, much akin to Vault-Tec and McDonalds. That is why they never made a washing machine. Though to be serious for a moment about squeaky cleanliness, the idea is very easy to implement. One would have to simply make the washing machine models mentioned above into containers, add a script to give a clean version of any inserted cloths once the combination of detergent and water, plus cloths, is made, and viola. Though I'm not sure about animations, one could add sounds with a timer.
bfg10k17
Would someone f'king read my comment ?Sorry about raging a little, but as I said, there are allready finished and good models for washing machines and dryers. They're only good looking containers for now, but as mentioned above me, adding a few scripts will fix them up for good.As for how to wash with them, it would be like this (I think):Put clothes, a box of detergent and 10 bottles of water in it. Power the machine with a portable fusion engine or if you have a lot, some energy ammo. Than wait half hour for the washing machine to finish.Than use the dryer, and there you have it. Clean clothes. Now you just need to wash yourself, 'cuz you smell like an ogre. But yeah, it's interesting you all talk about washing clothes, but not cleaninh the pc (player character) Edited May 19, 2012 by bfg10k17

Also I have a bath/sauna type mod for cleaning myself =) Edited May 19, 2012 by OneOhOne

VictorianApocolypse
Well, you could very well request it you know. I'm sure there would be modders about with spare time that would love to implement this! Actually, I may very well take a try at it if you wouldn't mind. Though I am extremely busy on my series of mods, which I have yet to even upload on the Nexus anyway. Good luck, I'm sure modders like Pwinkle would be willing to listen at the very least. :)
