iDrinkHydrochloricAcid
I've tried many times to install FOSE but the game doesn't recognize its installed. I bought and downloaded the fallout 3 game of the year edition off of Steam and I think its the main contributing factor. I used the NVSE for fallout new vegas and it worked fine, but i tried getting FOSE for fallout 3 and it doesn't work. Someone please help! MichikoUnknownFox
You have to run it via the fose_loader.exe file.

M48A5
There are a couple of things in your original post that have me puzzled. What did you use the NVSE to do? And what worked? What was installed in what folder? Why are you using the New Vegas Script Extender with Fallout 3?
iDrinkHydrochloricAcid
There are a couple of things in your original post that have me puzzled. What did you use the NVSE to do? And what worked? What was installed in what folder? Why are you using the New Vegas Script Extender with Fallout 3? I'll try to clear it up: i downloaded NVSE for its original puropose, with Fallout new vegas. It worked and had no problems with it. I now tried to install FOSE for Fallout 3 and installed it into the Fallout 3 root folder, NOT the data folder. It doesn't work for some reason. Hope that helps clear things up.
MichikoUnknownFox
Did you extract the fose_loader.exe file from the FOSE archive from their website? Do you see it inside the FO3 root folder? That's what you need to launch, and it'll automatically launch the game for you with FOSE enabled. But it disables the Steam interface. If you want to still play with Steam's interface thing (Steam community, web browser, screenshots, etc.) you're going to need to add it as a custom game to Steam. I still use it because Steam's screenshots manager is very effective and convenient, and so is the built-in web browser so I can look at guides and walkthroughs while I'm playing.
