Cait doesn't want to talk

Having an issue with Cait, she doesn't seem to want to talk to me when I have her as a companion unless one of her affinity dialogues is cued. I can still use her fine; command her around, trade with her, tell her to stay. Just can't use the talk option to get her opinion of our relationship or whatnot. It's only here too, all the other companions are fine.. or at least those I've unlocked in this game thus far (Preston, Codsworth, Piper, Nick). Dogmeat gives me some issues where sometimes he won't respond to the talk command but he always comes around. I'm not thinking it's a mod problem as it's only affecting Cait which rules out "Everyone's Best Friend". The only mod I have effecting Cait alone is Uncaged Cait but I uninstalled, fired up the save and nothing. I've loaded back to when I first got her at the CC, and discovered I couldn't talk to her even back then (about 4 hours of play ago), just never tried until now. Sense it's just her, I've also ruled out the walking away from an open dialogue too, as that usually hinders talking to all of the companions.

There are mods that are able to break the vanilla companions.

It is wellknown that the Mechanist companion mod breaks Piper's dialogue (read the comment section of that mod) and makes it impossible to talk to her so I suspect that you have a similar mod in your load order that broke Cait

Sorry it took me a few weeks to get it up, been away from my computer. I've already removed the mods under the companion sections and the affinity gain mods but still couldn't talk to her. It's only affecting Cait too, that I can tell. Don't have MacCready, Danse, Curie, Strong, X6-88, Longfellow or Gage.

cant really see any mods that would be specific to this issue, so the only thing you can do, is disable all mods, check to see if that fixes the issue, if it does, then you will need to enable a few at a time, until you get the problem again.

this issue might even be caused by script latency issues/script bloat. (caused by having many scripted mods that have their scripts constantly active, this can result in poor performance, scripts failing to fire (ie dialouge), and more major issues)

however since you mention everything else works fine, this may make it being a script based issue less likely. so yea, best bet is to first see if its a mod conflict. by following the very first line on this reply.

Going to be picking through it slowly as the mood hits to try and find the problem. I've already removed those 3 you mentioned and loaded up but still, she didn't want to talk. I've ruled out a script issue because it's only her (as best as I can tell), sorta like how the mechanist mod breaks Piper as Bajs11 mentioned.
