noparts
I was going to hijack the post which you most recently provided a quick answer to, but decided against that. I am most curious as to why you feel LOOT will make Fallout 3 unplayable?
WastelandAssassin
would it not be best to directly contact them via a PM instead?or if you are asking this publicly , won't it be best to change the title to reflect the actual question , and mention that user in the post?these are just suggestions , but hopefully they would give you better results as for the point of the question , LOOT isn't the most accurate tool , as it is built around a general data baseso it can't judge every case properlyI don't know which specific topic you were mentioning (and if it is relevant to the question , linking it would be advised) , but I've seen plenty of cases where sorting your load order via LOOT and leaving it at that will cause many problems , as LOOT sometimes sorts plugins improperly
M48A5
To answer noparts, I have seen too many load orders posted by members complaining that they cannot start the game or the game crashes shortly after starting that were sorted by LOOT. Any tool that places compatibility patches before the mods being patched does not sort files properly. When mod authors post load orders for their mods and LOOT does not place the plugins correctly, leads me to believe that it does not sort FO3 mods correctly. I have advised many members not to use LOOT to sort the load order and had them use B.O.S.S. instead and they come back and post that with BOSS they were able to play the game. That is why I and others here say not to use LOOT to sort FO3 mods. Granted, it works well with FNV, Skyrim, FO4, etc. It just has never sorted FO3 files correctly. OIC ... well thank YOU for your service  And it is nice to be properly introduced finally . So it leaves me with one more question ... waht is your interest with the Fallout games since you don't seem to be interested in modding (geck work) ? And not that is a problem ... just curiosity . A moment after I clicked on the 'Post' button, I thought "Wait... Why didn't I just send a PM?" Also, yes; bad title. I don't do much posting, that much is obvious. However, I have been perusing the Nexus Forums for, what feels like, a lifetime. I've always preferred to search and read, as opposed to posting, when I have an issue. Between The Elder Scrolls and Fallout; well, suffice to say, that's a lot of issues! Point taken, however - and thank you.

That is why I and others here say not to use LOOT to sort FO3 mods. Granted, it works well with FNV, Skyrim, FO4, etc. It just has never sorted FO3 files correctly. When B.O.S.S. closed its doors, LOOT seemed - to me - the best alternative. I use it for Oblivion, Skyrim, FO3 and FNV, with no problems. Except, over the last few months, I have had CTD issues with FO3. A few tweaks to the ini allowed for much longer game play, before the inevitable CTD's. I haven't got a great deal of mods installed, maybe 30 to 40, with all the DLC's. I do have the latest unofficial patch. I stay away from the really big mods like FOOK, FWE, etc. At any rate, I'm glad I asked. I'm going to fire up B.O.S.S. in hopes that it corrects whatever ails FO3. Also, I have used Wrye and B.O.S.S. since Oblivion, so I was really bummed when they decided to end work on B.O.S.S. That was my only complaint with LOOT - it did not integrate with Wrye the same way; although it does re-sort when I bring Wrye to the foreground, after running LOOT. Thanks for your input and guidance, I appreciate it.
M48A5
@mktavish, I thoroughly the game. I just like to go out with my four girls and wander the wastes. I find it relaxing. As for modding, I made a couple of companions in the GECK, but I have a problem with the facegen. None of them were anything I would want to see everyday. I usually take different clothing and armor mods and modify them in Blender or GIMP for my own amusement. Most of the images I post are with the armor I've modified.
