Broken Vortex

So at first I was having issues with it updating my load order, Now vortex has completely shot itself in the foot, Literately, were talking cannon balls being shot downwards through its own foot and into the ground, I rebooted my pc and now it just sits at the loading wheel thingy, I literately loaded it up and left it sitting there for the past 15 hours, and its still on a rotating wheel, I removed it using windows 10 and readded same problem i downloaded the other installation of it and put it on a different drive letter, same problem, no matter what I do, its stuck on the this weird arrow wheel thingy, id report it in the program it self... but seeing as I can not get into the program itself, I am a bit perplexed as to what to do. Any help would be amazing!!

Do you have any screenshots of the error? Could you possibly provide your log file "C:\Users\{Username}\AppData\Roaming\Vortex" is where it will be :smile:

there is no error message it just sits at the screen rotating, https://i.imgur.com/cjzhXnJ.png and this https://i.imgur.com/eiIfLwQ.png and more of this https://i.imgur.com/7CpPIBa.png has not budged even after i reinstalled vortex****, just will not leave the screen XD 15 hours of the same screen, and still the same screen. I am in the folder you specified but i am unsure of which thing In should screenshot,

nevermind I just deleted the whole folder and now it works, the only downside of it is, is now I have to go redownload every single file from nexus, cause all the mods i have, have lost there info and everything -sighs-

Emophaze, I just went through reloading my OS. I knew I was going to reload all of the same mods once I got Skyrim/Vortex back up and running, so before wiping my system I copied all of the mods in my Vortex downloads folder over to an external drive.

 

Then, when I was ready to rebuild my Skyrim setup I just used the Install From File button on the top of the Mods tab in Vortex. I still had to reinstall each mod one-by-one, but I didn't have to download any of them. A real timesaver for some of those huge mods!

Yeh that's pretty much what I did, Vortex first decided to like have mods injected but for whatever reason they were not being activated, even with a clean install of sky rim se and vortex (in varying attempts to figure it out) id install all the mods again and load up a saved game and it would say some were still missing, and even when i made a new game (no mods at all) and then loaded mods I had specifically installed ones with mcm windows or races just to see if they would appear (completely different mods got loaded) it was really quite perplexing, then it decided to full on kick the bucket, it became stuck in a perminate loop, of a loading screen with a circular wheel of 4 arrows constantly spinning.... for amusements sake I left it going when I went to work and came home, (15 hours later total) and it was still going, I even put in a bug report before the spinning wheel, sadly all I got was attitude from some person, and got told it was not possible..... Not sure who, It has not happened again since then, But I do plan on recording it this time around if it happens again, Though I don't think I could go through the long process of redoing every mod again XD.
