An independent New Vegas mod.

I could see this working well with many other mods on the Nexus. Run the Lucky 38, Bison Steve Casino, For the Enclave, Deathsong Brotherhood, just to name small handfull. I always play for an Independent Vegas as I like to be my own boss. With the Divide and Big MT under your name along with so many other settlements and establishments, only a pansy would give away all of their accumlated wealth to farmboy NCR or leotard wearing Legion. I wouldnt take orders from a bag of bones pervert living in a test tube drinking his own piss either.

That out of the way, I could see quests in building infarstructure, reactivating production (Repconn Launch Site and New Vegas Steel), forming alliances between the Boomers, BoS, Gun Runners etc. TSC Vegas would fit well with this mod also. Building a Nevada Defence Force using funding from the spoils of war and having companions like Boone and Raul train them would be ideal. Utilising other companions from other mods i.e Russell, to train the NDF and The Undergroud military from AWOP could more immersion.

I think you guys should get hold of the C.A.G.E author as that mod is gaining traction and I never do a playthrough without it so I can see the after effects of kicking 3 armies out of the Mojave and taking it over.

Whats the state of this mod, thus far??

Probably not with other mods/companions. You have to use NVSE to test for their presence and a larger problem would be using other authors works (permissions).

Yeah RTS & resource management are all part of a planned expansion, as well as Quest extensions. There's quite a bit of discussion about them both in the thread, but it's a lot of pages and can be difficult to read through. Both of those aspects are down the road a ways though. Right now I'm more interested in creating the immediate after affects of the battle.

Chrissy_M_ (author of the CAGE mod), gave me permission quite a while back for use of his mod's assets, he's a good guy. But there's not much to CAGE per se, just alters the script a bit in the slideshow/end game room.

Hoover exterior, legate camp and fort cleaned up of battle conditions. Probably start on the strip next (don't have an ETA at the moment since I have about a billion projects going on). You can test a beta here.

i got a idea how you could lore wise explain why there are slideshows telling the courier adventurers and choices in the wasteland the ncr kidnapped (if sided with independent, house ,or legion) or brought back to celebrate (if sided with ncr) to the ncr embassy in a guarded room to investigate the events that lead to the couriers rise to power two events could happen

1. if sided with the ncr a diplomatic representative of the ncr will walk in telling the courier they have chosen him/her to be the governor/governess to run new vegas for the ncr and help secure it as a stable state and they are there to assist in any matters that might arise as adviser

2. if sided with house, legion,or independent a fanatic fan of the courier blows open the door taking out the guards to stage a rescue for the person they think should be in charge and help with anything the courier wants the ncr so embarrassed by the event they cover up the incident so as to not effect any relationship you might have or want to have with the group

thus the take over of New Vegas begins

It's an interesting idea for the NCR ending, but I don't think we could or more appropriately would want to make it for the other endings. It would ruin the storyline of the other endings if the NCR can just scoop you up (not to mention they'd be likely to kill you for blocking their annexation of NV). But for the NCR ending, it definitely has possibilities. And maybe the slideshow can be altered a bit for each ending. House (in the lucky 38 via the terminal screen) there for the house ending, Yesman there for the independent ending. To make it seem like they'r are in sort of a briefing/overview.

No idea if that would work for the legion ending, but I am less then overwhelmed about the idea of that particular faction conclusion, anyway.

I've just had some ideas for future quests that I wanted to type out.

I was having a look on the Fallout wiki and I found mention of a few places in Arizona that were under NCR control until the Legion eventually forced them out. The places I mention are Arizona Spillway, Willow Beach and Fort Abandon. There is also another location in Arizona called Bullhead City which remains under the NCR's control. I was thinking that these areas may be used in the NCR and Legion versions of the mod for future quests and military campaigns but I can't see them being used in the Independent or House versions.

Another idea I had relates to the Daughters of Hecate that we spoke about on the Legion thread which can be used in the NCR, Independent and House version. My idea is that the Courier is approached by an envoy from Hecate who has heard about the Legion's defeat at Hoover Dam. This envoy could be allowed to recruit the remaining Vipers and other raiders in the Mojave area to bolster Hecate's forces in Arizona. I'm sure House would be happy to see any remaining raider groups leave the area and the NCR would see the advantage of using the Daughters of Hecate as a proxy army against the Legion in Arizona.

Yeah definitely a enemy of my enemy thing.

For the NCR it might have to be a bit under the radar (or just an unspoken agreement to look the other way), since they are the equivalent of what would be outlaws in the boarder territories of early America. Ie wanted men, that the NCR would like to see pay for their crimes. Or possibly not, the NCR can be practical when it has to be.....and they don't have a lot of manpower to spare in the Mojave.

For the ind & House though, it's pretty much a easy no brainer, if they can get any undesirables out of the area and in addition some canon fodder against the Legion it seems like a clear win.

I had a look at places east of the Colorado for my abandoned Eastern Promises mod. There is terrain there, but no rocks and such, and no navmesh, so it would be a lot of work to make it playable.

Yeah, but still a bit less work than a new world space (assuming it's close enough to fit in the area, at both the spillway & willow beach look fairly close to our beloved world space).

If you want, I can send you some of my stuff. There are a few locations I made, the big one being Tarquinia, a legion town just outside of the fort with some slave-plantation farms. If I'm not going to use it, somebody might as well do.
