Body mod for SSE?

I recently made the jump from oldrim to SSE. On oldrim CBBE was on it's deathbed or at least that's what I thought. But now that I am looking at SSE every big armor mod has CBBE on them.

Did I miss something? Is CBBE the dominant bodymod now?

what was the dominant body mod in LE , in your opinion?

because as far as I know , the two dominant ones were UNP and CBBE , with a few minor others that never really got anywhere near as much traction (at least as far as I'm aware)

though I suspect that due to BodySlide , CBBE just gives users far more options for customization , which is why many choose to work with it

but UNP still has a large loving audience

in fact , going through the most endorsed armor mods , I see a lot of UNP mods , far fewer CBBE mods , and a lot of mods with no specific body in the title

obviously considering the fact that CBBE came to SSE a year after UNP , it's not so easy to judge this , but I'll just say I don't think one is clearly dominant over the other

Before I always saw people running unp/unpb and would get told that CBBE is outdated. I'd always see in the comments about "is this getting a CBBE version" and how a lot of modders didn't wanna mess with CBBE.

I saw a couple other ones but the main ones were always CBBE and UNP/B imo

I heard the NEW CBBE is a brand new body that is more detailed than the others; but a lot of the armors are ports that don't fully use it. So I am conflicted.

Whoops! Hang on, I use UNP Female Body Renewal

I use CBBE for FO4 because UNP hasn't caught up yet like it did with SSE

while it is true that a lot of mods are ports , other users have uploaded fully functional BodySlide files as separate mods that you can download (and you should be able to find these by either searching the name of the mod , looking through the comments or looking at mods that require the mod you are looking at) . so with these most of the old ports have caught up to CBBE , at least in some respects

so with that in mind , it's all about trying to find the body mod that supports as many of the armor and clothing mods that you wish to use

it could be CBBE , UNP or something else entirely , and solely depends on you

I have used CBBE for SSE , I don't think I've tried UNP for SSE (though I have used it for LE and loved it) . there is no clear answer in my opinion

A few notes:

- LE CBBE is still more popular than UNP, still ranking at #5 of most endorsed all time and last two weeks, while UNP isn't even in the top 30.

- The reason it's 'dead' is because the authors have moved on to SE; there isn't anything more we want to do with LE CBBE.

- The reason SE UNP outfits have more endorsements and the like is because it's had a year head-start on CBBE.

- The vast majority of the UNP outfits are straight ports from LE, i.e. they're just old stuff put into the 'new' game.

- SE CBBE is a new body, thus LE outfit mods wont work with it, which means outfits have to be converted to the new body (not a 'straight port'). Despite this, it is quickly catching up to the number of outfits UNP has (if it hasn't already overtaken it), and the vast majority of them are new, as in they weren't available for CBBE in LE.

- Only CBBE has BodySlide support in SE. You can use UUNP if you're really die-hard for that shape (which CBBE probably has a preset of...), but you wont get any support from the BodySlide team, and you'll have to port mods yourself.
