Are the most popular large quest mods well done with good production?

I want to add more content to the world but I want it to feel at least semi seamless in terms of the quality of the voices, story and new content...

Falskaar

Wyrmstooth

Moonpath

Project AO

Forgotten City

Undeath

Beyond Bruma

Moon and Star

Legacy of the DragonBorn

Are the ones I was most interested in... The descriptions and photos paint a pretty amazing picture!

I have not tried any of these, but I can tell one thing for sure. Everyone seems to love Beyond skyrim Bruma. I've seen a few walkthroughs and lemme tell you, I can't really tell the difference from original game design and that of a skyrim Bruma.

In my "base mod" profile i always have Forgotten City, Moon and Star, Beyond Skyrim - Bruma, Helgen Reborn and LOTD beacause no matter what character i play i would want to do some of that content.

Bruma and LOTD being the most important for me since they relly becommes a part of base game.

They are all very good. I have played Moonpath once and it is very nice. Also try Rigmor of Bruma.... so good.

Falskar i never use since i dont really like it.

I think I'm going to leave out Legacy of the Dragonborn... It just looks to be on too grand a scale and influences everything in the world. I've never even come close to completing all the vanilla content or dlc before re-starting a new play through... I can imagine by the time I get through all the vanilla, all the dlc and all the other quest mods I'd be pretty burnt out... Don't think I need something as massive, involved and intrusive as Legacy of the Dragonborn even though it looks truly amazing.

I understand your reasons for leaving out Legacy of the Dragonborn (LOTD). I love the mod but it does change the way I approach the game and is very 'intrusive' by nature.

I recommend doing 2 playthroughs.

Playthrough 1: LOTD and all the mods that you can add displays to the museum for. This will cover A LOT of quest mods.

Playthrough 2: All the good quest mods not supported by LOTD. I recommend the following for a non-LOTD playthrough:

Skyrim Underground

Clockwork Castle

Beyond Skyrim Bruma

ESO Skyshards

Rigmor of Bruma (patch available for Beyond Skyrim Bruma if using both mods)

Caranthir Tower Reborn

Notice Board and/or Missives

Project AHO

Heljarchen Farm

Hammet's Dungeon Pack

M'rissi's Tails of Troubles

Beyond Reach (when I play this a long time ago I found it buggy but it has had several updates since then)

Obviously playthrough 1 and 2 in any order you want

There are other quest mods I've not tried like Forgotten Dungeons and Easierrider's Dungeon pack which may be worth a look. Also Amorous Adventures and Maids II are highly rated. Not played any of these (yet!)

Why no like Falskaar?

Reading on the forums there do appear to be some issues here and there with some of the older quest mods than are no longer supported in conflict with other mods like newer USSEP versions or random mods. Makes me slightly wary as some of these mods haven't been updated since being ported over to SSE when it was initially released.

Assume youre asking me?

I played it on Oldrim and encountered a quest breaking bug on the main quest about two thirds of the way through. My understanding is that the mod has had several updates since then so the bug may be long gone.

I dont like to complain - I got hours of play out of it and its free content so I cant criticise.

All of the same comments apply also to the Beyond Reach mod which i also played on oldrim.

.... Undeath conflicts with many mods..... Bruma, vigilant, wyrmstooth, AHO, Beyond Reach, Moon and star, Helgen reborn, Moonpath to elswere, ambriel, forgotten city all of those i've never had a problem with. Grey cowl of nocturnal is buggy, LOTD is extremely buggy and not made to be on SSE period good luck with your save file if you are using LOTD faalskaar doesnt even come close to making the cut, yeah it's huge yeah 1 guy made it but it's boring as a cat turd! because it's so huge you gotta walk an hour to even see a deer... there's no ambient animals on the island it s#*! all around yes he knows scripting but he has no creativity. I'm making a mod called Knights of Talos it's to be released january 1st it adds alot of content like thalmor invading, missing bosses (mannimarco, orkey, skakmat many many more) naval warfare and lots of little things no scripts seemless integration with vanilla but it's a few months away still.
