Objects disappearing when placed with CS?

I placed 3 swords close to each other (Approx. 1 ft. away from each other). I load a save to come get them in the game. First time was good. All the swords were there. Second time i load to come get them, 1 of the 3 swords were missing. Tried it several time, once there were 2 swords missing.

I placed the object like 4 ft. from the ground to avoid them clipping under the ground and disappearing. Still they disappear when i load a second time (I am using weapons from another plugin, not the Oblivion master file).

What's going on?

Also if there are NPC's nearby, they might "kick" them and indirectly causing some clipping which might cause them to drop through the ground, had this happen to me twice, albeit most likely it isn't a common issue. I usually just add the items I want on NPC's I know aren't edited by any of my other mods and then just go whack the target to death. :)

On occasion I've seen things fall through the floor when they really shouldn't... Did you try toggling Havok physics on them and seeing what happens? That's all I can think of that might be causing it, anyways...

Yeah, did that. Still disappearing. So i guess placing items in containers is best? But i rly like to have items outside and pick them up. feels cooler.

He is trying to mod them for himself without using the mods that add large worldspaces and cause him ctd's. If this was to be published, he'd have to get permission from the original authors, or simply add .esp without required meshes/textures so the people would have to download the original work, but this is all beside the point. Hopefully we've given enough tips so he can get it to work. :)

No, because if he is referencing files from another mod selected in the CS it may be a problem. It may work in his own setup, but the item may disappear or even crash the game if the original mod is missing or the load order changes.

Edit: this is why I asked if he was using models from another mod instead vanilla model. If is an ESM OK but not if ESP... and of course just "IF he is doing so"

If he is modeling himself my question don't apply at all. the issue would be of other nature.

Actually not, the filepaths where the meshes/textures are, should always be the same and in 99.99% of the cases are, unless some jackass wants to rename the folder/mesh/texture file. :P The only possible error I could think of would be with the difference in the disk where the game and textures/meshes are installed, but that should be quite easy to fix, and for all I know, the .esp auto-detects the oblivion main folder where the textures should be and will look there for the files in question.
