Vortex does not install mods properly

I had an issue where I followed the video guide to install my first mod through Vortex. Download > Install > Enable but the plugin (.esp) didn't show in the plugins list in Vortex and therefore didn't work in the game.

The plugins list had a message at the top, I don't recall what it said, but there was a Deploy button next to it so I hit that...nothing. Message stayed there too.

Yes, the downloads and staging folder both on the same partition as the game.

I went to the game settings in Vortex to see if the folder was for the game was correct. Again, yes.

I then clicked 'Manually Set Location' and picked the same location it was displaying.

Then back to plugins and hit the Deploy again. This time it worked. Message gone and the new .esp is in place. Mod loads in game.

Well, I don't have any idea WHICH game you're talking about, but what is the "Deployment method" set for this mystery game?

SETTINGS---->MODS

It's Skyrim SE, installed via Steam.

Yes, the deployment method is hardlink. I followed the instruction in the GopherVids YouTube vids.

Like I say, it's working for me now but only after I manually set the game location....to the same location it had picked up automatically.

I have same problem in Bannelord. Vortex have three options on every mod, Enabled, Disabled and Uninstall.

The problem im having, Vorted Downloads files into Staging Folder and pretends that mods are installed. I have to manualy move files over.

Edit: It works now, I have to press Bell icon and i have to Elevate some stuff to high heavens. /facepalm
