Acacophony
I'm having a couple of issues with groups. First of all, my "Scrap Everything" group isn't sorting for some reason. The mods in that group are still separated by mods in the "Default" group, even though in the group web settings they're supposed to all come after the default mods. I'm not sure why they aren't sorting properly, when I got mods in my custom groups to sort just fine. Second, can I change the name of the default groups? I would like to rename "Alternate Start" and a couple of other default groups to be a little more descriptive for how I plan to use them. Any help is appreciated. I'm liking vortex so far but getting used to a new way of doings things is always frustrating. I absolutely love groups and it's going to make my life way easier down the road, but I still miss drag and drop load ordering editing too... Turn on ADVANCED MODE under SETTINGS--------->INTERFACE--------->Enable Advanced Mode Go to the PLUGINS Tab, click on MANAGE GROUPS in the orange bar at the topOn that screen, you can click on an empty area to create your own groups, there are more instructions on that Manage Group Popup that you should find useful. I'd like to hear how you're using groups to manage your mods, as I've only just touched the surface with them, mainly by adding a mod to a group in order to force it to the bottom of my load order, things like that, but I'd like to know if several mods are added to a group, if those mods can be moved as a unit etc.

I'll try that. I have always used mod groups, it's just that with NMM I would have to keep track of them by hand. I'm still figuring out how I want to subdivide my groups to work with Vortex's system, but very broadly, I have always categorized my mods according to what the mod author's suggest for load order. So for example, one group would be the "Load early" mods. Mods like alternate start, better locational damage, and enhanced lights and fx are "Load late" mods, that need to go lower down in my LO. Also, be aware, where you put the group in the Line will determine where in the load order the mods in that group will go.The default groups are arranged like this (For Fallout 3 anyway) highest in the load order---------------------------------------------------------------------------------lowest in the load orderDLC----->Unofficial Patches------>Fixes------>Fast Travel Indoors------>Default-------->Overrides-------->Dynamic Patches. According to the pop up, you can right click on a line to remove the line (between Fixes and Fast Travel Indoors) DLC----->Unofficial Patches------>Fixes Fast Travel Indoors------>Default-------->Overrides-------->Dynamic Patches, which would allow you for instance, to put your own group in between Fixes and Fast Travel Indoors, ex: MY GROUP DLC----->Unofficial Patches------>Fixes-------->MY GROUP-------->Fast Travel Indoors------>Default-------->Overrides-------->Dynamic Patches etc
