Plainguy
was playing fallout 4 horizon.Went to look at a mod for super mutants and noticed vortex. Downloaded and moved things over. It seemed easy enough. Now I lost a lot of settings. 1. Gun scopes are messed up , they are actually gone.2. ammo types are gone. I cannot change any weapon ammo type. My mistake I should not have fixed what wasn't broken for me. Now trying to figure out how to fix all this stuff.I'm trouble shooting instead of playing.. BigDaddyRat
I will never understand a companies desire to fix what ain't broke. NMM has it's faults, but it's a lot easier to install and un-install mods. I'm having trouble as well trying to figure out how to overwrite mods if you have an update or add-on to it. HadToRegister
Actually it's a lot easier to Install/Uninstall mods with Vortex because you can easily change the order of the MODS and when you do that, Vortex automatically restores the overwritten files, and then overwrites the files of the other mod if you so choose, and then, if you find out you made a mistake, and the previous files being overwritten by the other mod was better, it just takes putting that mod to load BEFORE the other mod, and Vortex now restores THOSE files and overwrites the other ones. It's not the big pain in the ass it once was with NMM, where if you accidentally overwrote another mods files, you'd have to start over,If you guys would start using Vortex on a NEW GAME INSTALL, instead of trying to switch your perfectly working 260+ mod game right in the middle of play and you screw it up, you only have yourself to blame for not starting out small and getting to learn Vortex first. The Nexus even warns that if you have a good game set up, to keep using what you're using, and switch to Vortex slowly, yet here everybody is, taking their massively modded games, screwing up how to import the game, and then blaming Vortex. That's why I tried Vortex while still playing Skyrim SE with NMM, because I just reinstalled Fallout 4 for the sole purpose of trying out Vortex, and if I screwed something up because I wasn't familiar with the interface, it'd be no big deal because I didn't lose anything important.
