Demoonmunkay
Ok let's pretend like I'm a total Noob for a sec, in fact lets not pretend. I'm seeing all kinds of Acronyms for mods terminology that I have no clue what it means, and I can't be the only one because that would be statistically illogical. Now I've been typing all kinds of Acronyms into the respective nexus search engines only to come up with mods that use the acronym in the description of their own mod with out telling what the Acronym stands for. Now this bugs the hell out of me, that's like explaining to a child how the inner working of the government works without telling him what the technical terminology means and assuming that he knows what you mean... and assuming is bad. So Here's a list of a few common Acronyms I found in my wnadering of the nexus' and I thought I'd share them with you. I'll be checking back regularly and updating the OP (original post) *<--- see? that was easy right?* to match anyone who feels obliged to help others around them to better understand the wonder that is the NEXUS network.*edit* an idea came up after reading through some of the responces, thanks guys/girls, I'll start putting the Unknown ones at the top so they're more likely to get answered.*edit 2*Now Alphbetized (good call Tetradite). That said I give you the list so far:*edit 3* Thank you all for your contributions to "The List." The only hting i can think of that could make this better is if we knew which games these went to, if they have specific games.*edit 4* M'a Boy! <--- This piece is what all true warriors strive for. tetradite
Nice work everyone, this is one of those "why didn't this already exist?" ideas. Any chance you could also sort the list in the original post into alphabetical order? (Excluding the unknowns which should stay at the top). Like chevenga I'm also happy to lend a hand with this kind of formatting/sorting thing if you don't want to/don't have time etc
chevenga
I can't help but notice that for UNP you didn't tell us what the Acronym stood for, could you fix that please... if you know that is. Heh. Sorry about that. It's not a true acronym or initialism. It's UNPretended, as in "not pretending to be anything":Thus, this mod. Which does NOT pretend to be: realistic, beautiful, eyecandy,it even does not pretend to be human-like. Just something I making to suit my tastes. So,here it is -UNPRETENDED. You know, I always say "yu-en-pi" in my head, but dimon99 may say it "un-pi". I'll have to ask sometime. ;) From the UNP description, I spotted this one to add:XCE: Xenius Character EnhancementOh, and here's a major one I should have thought of yesterday:CTD: crash to desktop, that most annoying of circumstances when a Bethesda game quits on you without warning or error message and dumps you on the desktopTa-ta for now (TTFN) and thanks again, List Keeper! bben46
This topic would make for a good WIKI article. As to CTD, (Crash To Desktop) it is becoming a catch all for any kind of crash by those who don't know what it really means. :whistling: A CTD is one that happens with no warning - You are playing merrily along and are suddenly looking at the desktop. No error message or any reason given. And you can usually restart the game from your last save. These are far too common on Bethsoft games and have many causes.
