Soboky
Hi there, I had Vortex set up for Skyrim SE with around 150 mods, everything perfectly set up after 3 days of settings and conflict resolution and patches and so on.I've done the most recent update and then decided to start setting up Vortex for Fallout 4 for as well. So I add Fallout 4, start adding some mods but decide to take a break and play some Skyrim.I switch Vortex back to Skyrim and all of a sudden all my mods are duplicated, they all have 2 entries showing up, one Disabled and one Never Installed. The Plugins are still there but the Mods tab is like that, I'll attach a picture.I've tried all manner of things to fix this and nothing seems to work. Now I do know what might be a potential suspect but I also feel like it's a very obvious one and I've seen people reporting this problem that didn't do what I did. Before I started modding Fallout 4, I went to Setting and I thought that if I change the Download Path, it'll only change for Fallout 4 not all of Vortex, and since my Fallout 4 is on my SSD but Skyrim is on Hard Drive, I changed it to SSD, hit Apply and noticed it would take a ridiculous amount of time so I force closed Vortex. When I reopened it, the Download path was the same as before I changed it.So the obvious idea would be that Vortex created a link or pointer to the SSD Location and even though I deleted that location and made sure the path was still on Hard Drive, it still thinks the archives might be on the SSD or something. Then again, it might also be something else that might be obscured by the blatantly bad thing that I did. I dunno. If anyone has any ideas, I'd love to hear them. Edit: Just remembered, don't think it's the Download Path thing cause I remember I was playing Skyrim just fine and alt tabbed and opened Vortex to check a mod that was messing my magicka regen and everything was still okay in Vortex, the only thing I kinda remember doing is used Avast Cleanup to clean up registries and fix broken shortcuts in between opening Vortex. So wonder if maybe a registry thing got deleted that shouldn't have been. Or maybe it's a combination of this and the Download Path thing. It baffles my brains. This just happened to me too. All I did was update Vortex, so that might be the culprit, install mods for Morrowind, another thing the sufferers of this error seem to have in common (modding another game), and mess with Creation Kit. Since nobody else, besides myself, has mentioned Creation Kit as being used near the time of the error, I think it unlikely that this is the source of the issue. DustPaladin
I have a similar but slightly different issue. I just switched games on vortex from skyrimse to fallout 4, decided not to do anything and switched back to skyrimse. And by not do anything I mean i literally opened up fallout 4, debated internally on going on another modding spree, and then decided against it. So I switched back to skyrimse and poof! every single mod is "never installed". 225+ mods. I tried to renable them but it says a version already exists, replace or new version? I decided to not do anything and cancelled. I double checked data files and wyre bash to make sure its not just vortex spazzing out, and every plugin is gone. I guess the saving grace is that I don't have to reinstall skyrim se lol. BUt still, I spent a shitton of time play-testing and making sure everything was stable. 15 + hours of pure mod fiddling gone. For download paths and all that jazz, i never ever changed whatever the default vortex deigned to grace us poor mortals with. I clicked on every option I could find, but apparently vortex is incapable of detecting its own s#*!. Great. I hope there is an archived version of NMM somewhere I can download. I hated MO because of how fiddly it is, and now I'm hating Vortex. NMM isn't the best, but at least it didn't auto-uninstall 225+ mods.
Pickysaurus
Could you please try using the extension and see if it resolves the issue?https://www.nexusmods.com/site/mods/25It would appear the mod install and its archive have become unlinked somehow. Did not fix it, had to do a mass re-enabling and re-resolve conflicting files in vortex, it's quite a lot for just changing game profile :/. But all plugins were enabled it was just the "mods" t ab that was disabled
Hachineal
I've encounter this problem my third time already. Having the near max of mods doesn't make this easier either. I don't know what causes it. I have reinstall my fallout's mod list once and skyrim 3 times already. It's quite frustrating and makes me want to switch back to NMM. Isatanica
Same here, Vortex basically screwed up my modlist and game and wasted my time. Did they even test it before launching it? Good thing I did not go premium....
