New California help

I installed FNV from Steam. I downloaded the 4GB patch (even though it isn't even close to 4 gigs, can somebody explain that to me?) I installed Nexus Vortex. I downloaded the New California mod. I had a bit of trouble at first because my Steam installation is on my D drive and my Nexus Vortex is on my C drive. Once I pointed Vortex in the right direction it installed the mod and enabled the mod.

But now how do I play the mod? When I look at the game in Vortex it says the mod is installed and enabled. When I run the game from Vortex, the New California mod is not active. When I run the game and go into the Download section, all the DLC is there but no mod.

The directions said to open "Package Manager" to install the mod but I am unable to find "Package Manager" anywhere in the Vortex program.

The directions also say to make sure to check NewCalifornia.esm in the load order. How do I do that?

Thanks

Sam

Don't install the FNV4GB patch using Vortex. Unzip it directly in the game directory. It is a small executable. Double click it to execute it.

Make sure you have clicked "Deploy" in Vortex.

Stop Vortex (just so you don't get confused).

Open the Fallout NV game directory using your file manager. Navigate to the Data folder.

You should see The Fallout NV files and all DLCs.

You should also see the New California ESM.

If not, you have Vortex pointing to the wrong directory.

I installed the patch manually, I didn't use Vortex. I never could get it to work. I deleted the game and reinstalled it on my C drive. Patched it, then Vortex had no problem installing the New California. Got it up and running. Thank you for the help.
