Duezala
Hello, I really want to download some mods and specifically the Moonpath to Elsweyer but I cannot find where the download is. Can someone please direct me? Thanks!
Dhegonus
http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/mods/categories/ sift through the categories or use the search filter in the top right :)
Duezala
Thanks! I figured out how to use the "subscribe" button which apparently downloads them. But, I noticed that when I logged into my game all my control settings had been reset to default. Does that normally happen when downloading a mod. I also have been playing offline for months and today got some upgrades. Do you happen to know if upgrades will cause my control settings to reset to default? It is a pain in the arse to have to re-input my preferences.
Duezala
I have subscribed to the mods and they show up in my workshop files but when I click to play the game, and click onto the data files, there is nothing there. What am I missing?
Dhegonus
make sure the files are in your skyrim -> data file
Sonreac
Moonpath is a big file. Give it a while for it to download to your computer.
Staind716
Personally I think you would be much better off using NMM and Nexus instead of the "click and subscribe" Workshop. That mess is a broken game waiting to happen. I avoid Workshop like the plague.
bben46
The Nexus doesn't use 'subscribe' to download mods. That is the Steam Workshop method. We use one of two ways, either using the 'Download With NMM' which requires NMM (Nexus Mod Manager) to be present (not all mods support this method) - or a manual download - which does not require any mod manager, or The steam workshop to install. However, it forces you to do some of the work of installing the mod yourself. In return you get more control over where mods are downloaded and stored on your computer. I use a combination, I manually download the mod into a set of subfolders for better sorting - all weapons are in one subfolder, while all armors are in another to make it easier to find. Then, I use the NMM to install the mod from my folders as that will make uninstalling, tracking load order and a few other things easier. Downloading a mod does nothing to your controls. Installing the mod might - if that is what the mod is supposed to do. Downloading doesn't not put the mod into your game - Again you are confusing the steam workshop subscription with the normal Download, then install method used by everyone else. The last Bethesda patch did mess with customized controls though. It was quickly fixed.
