Vortex won't start (doesn't respond) after latest Windows update

Hi there. I've been running Vortex for a week or so now without issues and playing Skyrim with mods launched via Vortex. I installed the recent Windows update (Feature update to Windows 10, version 1803, updated on november 12th) and ever since I've been getting "stopped responding" messages on the Vortex splash logo. I've uninstalled, installed on different drives and installed previous versions all to no avail.
Are any of you familiar with this particular error? I've been troubleshooting for a few days with no real progress. I suppose I could try rolling back on Windows updates, but it's weird I haven't seen others report this issue if it really is because of the latest windows update.

Any ideas? Thanks for your time.

Thank you for answering. Yes, to the best of my knowledge, everything is up to date. It is most vexing! I can't even access the application as it just hangs on the splash screen. I've tried running different compatibility options as well as run as admin and even run in safe mode all to no avail...

The strange thing is that when I uninstall and completely remove the folder as soon as I click on the install-app downloaded from Nexusmods the program seems to be installed without the usual install wizard needing to run. :/

What could be some of the most common issues for the app to hang on the splash screen?

There's two options, I always pick the custom installer as I try to keep as much as possible from installing to my Program Files folder

You definitely don't want to run Vortex as an Admin though.
