IDKrisis
I have only recently downloaded Vortex, I have been trying to figure out how to use it. Though an introductory video was included, it provides an extremely slow explanation of what to do, and most of the information it provides I had already figured out for myself. I just couldn't sit through it. I decided to look for a written manual so that I could simply skip to the parts that needed explaining, so I clicked on "knowledge base" and the display it provides features a bar at the left side of the window containing the options "Vortex Support", "Game Wikis", "General modding" and "Tools", but this bar overlaps with the main text display and cannot be removed, rendering a large part of the knowledge base unreadable. There are a few things I need to know: 1. Where does Vortex keep the zip files and other archives where the mods are stored? 2. How do I retrieve information on my mods from the Nexus website? 3. How do I manually sort mods into categories? 4. How do I add mods from non-Nexus websites? EDIT: I now have all the information I need, but the visual glitch in the knowledge base still needs fixing. The info is automatically retrieved and you can view that info in Vortex by double clicking the mod 3. By using the Category manager in the right hand panel that you open up by double clicking on the mod 4. Not 100%sure about this one.
IDKrisis
Okay, I've taken some time to look at your replies and have tried using the information you have given me. 1. Okay, got it. I looked at the picture you provided, found the folder and transferred the files that were not transferred when importing from Nexus Mod Manager. 2. This doesn't seem to be working. Most of the files transferred, both through the importing process and manually, originally came from Nexus, but the information is not being filled in. They will have to be sorted manually. 3. Thanks, this works. 4. Oh, well. With the information you've provided me already, I can probably sort out this problem myself. Thanks for the help! For #2 Mod Info, try setting the Mod SOURCE to NEXUS MODS, shown in the Screenshot with Categories (the small dropdown at the top of Screenshot #
Guest deleted34304850
for answer 4, i downloaded a mod from bethesda's site - what i did was download it, then manually remove it from my data folder, repackaged it to a 7zip file on my local computer and did a manual install, using vortex, by simply drag/dropping the folder into vortex.as far as i can tell, it worked perfectly. you may want to try that.
