Placed objects are "instances" of this parent in the world, like yours will be too when placed in the render windows or ingame. Go to the "Objects window" and chose the object you want to clone, mark it and with the mouse right click choose "edit" and change it's IDs and probably the name too (although this isn't necessary). So, when done changing everything you want and clicking OK you will be prompted to create a new FormID or Change the original one... MAKE SURE you create a new FormID. Your newly created parent object is ready to be placed in your mod render window or put in game the way you prefer. Try never changing original content, even if only for particular use.
