How to back out the changes Vortex makes to MO2.

From the MO2 team...."in vortex go to the settings and enable advance mode. Then go to the mods tab and there should be a new option in the toolbar saying "purge mods", the icon is a broken chain link. That will remove all the file links Vortex installed, basically "disabling the Vortex VFS". There is no VFS in vortex, it just creates a new link to the mod files in the data folder using hard links (you can find more info googling hard links). To re enable the vortex mods you press the deploy button on that same tool bar."

From Me: Immediately after purging the links, remove ALL vestiges of Vortex from your environment.

I would LOVE to show the denigrating reply from Vortex support, but it seems those posts have been moderated out of existence.

I'm assuming you're struggling with deploy and purge in Vortex?

If it's a MO2 compatible game, I also assume you're using Hardlinks (default)

So to deploy Vortex creates a hard link between the files in the data folder and the files in the staging area folder.

Purge removes all these hard links, essentially reverting to how the data folder was before you installed anything with Vortex.
