Vortex update: plugin list & mod sorting errors?

UPDATE: Tried again today (1 week later, haven't touched since last post), and the update downloaded. Things are in good order now. If you also were having this problem, it may now be fixed. :) Woot, woot.

First, thanks to the devs for working on Vortex and making it available. I would be lost to Skyrim SE without you. I could not find a thread on the issues I'm having, so I'm posting a fresh thread here. I hope this is not redundant.

My issue is simple. Vortex and Skyrim SE were working fine last time I ran them (two days ago), no issues. Started Vortex today and saw the "Update available" message (for V. 0.16.15). OK, clicked on the button, which restarted Vortex, and now the software shows three problems:

1. The update notification doesn't go away, even after I click "Restart and Install" (the software does restart, but maybe the update is not installing properly?).

2. I have an error that reads "Sorting mods failed." Clicking "More" gives me these details:

TypeError: Catch statement predicate: expecting an object but got [object Undefined]

3. Although I can see my mod list, I now cannot view my plugin list. When I try to view my plugin list, I get a message that reads "Failed to render."

My game is heavily modded (~230 and counting), but again, I haven't had any problems with Vortex or Skyrim SE until this update, and I haven't installed or modified any mods or Skyrim SE-related files at all since the last time I ran Vortex and Skyrim SE (when both ran without error).

With that said, my Steam account is set to automatically update Skyrim SE. Could this be a problem with the recent Skyrim SE patch through Steam (yesterday, I think) rather than the Vortex update?

Many thanks in advance for your patience and support and for your continued work on Vortex.

So I'm not the only one having this problem.

Having played it yesterday just fine, even after that update with my mods, I can assure you that it wasn't the latest update to SSE that wrecked things.

I only started having this issue with the update to Vortex(I wish I could still just use the NMM, that was simple, fast, and less widget bloated), that I started having trouble playing the game.

I can get it to go past the Bethesda logo, but after that I just get the Skyrim symbol and a loading wheel that won't progress, even after letting it go for over an hour.

I don't do the heavy mods, or anything that uses the script expander, just a few new item sets, the imperium mod, races compatabilitiy, and Dagi-jeet for cat people fun.

So, if anything, I believe the update to Vortex is to blame here.

Edit: Oh, I should mention that I tried this multiple times today, and each time I had to restart my system since Skyrim did that annoying freeze thing where I had to go into the ctrl-alt-del menu to access anything else.

Here you go, go use it.

Enjoy not knowing what mods are conflicting, while reading all the rage posts in the NMM section.

Click on INSTALL VORTEX button at the top of the page on Nexus

Scroll down, click the RIGHT button, Download NMM.

Put on your rose colored glasses.

The problem with that, is that all the downloads are automatically linked to vortex now, so it won't do me any good when I want to get something different installed.

Good lord, don't you know how to make BASIC settings in a program under the SETTINGS/GENERAL tab?

That's for NMM, when you had to change that setting when you first installed NMM
