I liked it the way it was, found out most of what i wanted too know within 30 seconds now i have to click links to find relevent info. Is there a way to select what is displayed when i first come to the site that would probibly make alot of people happy if it's possible.

The problem is that the layout in the tabs lacks formatting. It's just invisible boxes with text and images and no separation in between. if you used the site theme for each box, it would be much better. i.e.

- blue title box

- grey text and image area

- some border around each mod to distinctly separate them

And I just saw you removed the mod list which was previously present when you clicked "more"

WHY??? It was the best laid out page on all the nexus...and you just removed it...

Please bring back the old "more" page, otherwise I won't check older files simply because the current layout is giving me a headache just watching the first few mods, let alone ALL mods...

also...the preference don't work correctly. I set the default tab to "new files" over five times now. yet, every time I launch the browser and open the page it defaults back to site news...annoying...

And I just saw you removed the mod list which was previously present when you clicked "more" WHY???

All the more button did was link to the Latest files page, which has existed for a very long time now and has always been accessible from the Files drop-down menu. You might want to try and explore more features of this site if you didn't know about that page!

As for the why; the idea is that you won't have to leave the index page to get a lot of the stuff that you originally had to leave the index page to get. It saves you loading new pages, and it saves us bandwidth and server resources.

The irony of the complaint about the latest files being in blocks, rather than in rows, is that when we got rid of the block view last year in the redesign it was the number 1 thing people complained about. Now some blocks are back, people are complaining about it being in blocks rather than rows.

11 years doing this I've learnt a few simple things. You can't please everyone, and the people who dislike things are always louder than those who like them, even when they're a minority. If you've got nothing to complain about you're much less inclined to comment. If you've got something to complain about, you're much more inclined to comment. Ask a mod author and they'll tell you the same thing.

That doesn't mean I won't listen, it just means I take things with large chunks of salt these days.

Oh lol. I didn't check if the latest files still linked to that. I just thought you just removed it considering the changes that are being made, my bad.

Still, I didn't tell you to remove the blocks. I only suggested adding formatting to the blocks which match the site theme.

also, as some others suggested, you could move the latest files and images back to the horizontal position and put the new feeds system below them, allowing more mods, news, etc, to be displayed in the feeds due to being wider, while keeping the main focus on the mods, which is what the nexus is about afterall.

For each of the feeds, would it be possible to show more than two lines of text then a ( read more)

That really pisses me off as you have to click everything to just read an extra line. I find now I just don't read the information as it is too tedious.

I preferred the previous index page. This new format is not to my taste. I tried to revert to the previous version by adjusting things in preferences, but nothing works. Would it be possible to give us a "Revert To Previous Style" button?
