downloading with vortex not working

I'm logged into Nexus, logged into Vortex, but the Nexus page has a button to install Vortex instead of downloading with. When I go to files and hit the button there, Vortex gives me the following message for every mod I try:

message: You don't have permission to get download links from the API without visting nexusmods.com - this is for premium users only.
url: https://api.nexusmods.com/v1/games/{gameId}/mods/{modId}/files/{fileId}/download_link

I downloaded about a dozen mods through Vortex in the past and it was working fine (albeit a month or so ago), now this.

Did you update Vortex to 0.16.15?

Yes, I've updated. Weird; I updated it yesterday when this came up but for some reason it didn't take. Now it is updated and it seems to be working.
