Skyrim locking up

ok, so i havent posted in a long ass time.... recently back into Skyrim.
i have mods out the ying-yang, non-conflicting. spent over 3 days straightening that out.
Im also running the Skyrim Performance monitor app, with ENBoost.

funny thing is, when my RAM usage gets to about 1200mb, the game just non responsive.
i can see this in the monitor app, as my CPU usage bounces between 0-2%,
if the game is just thinking, CPU usage will bounce up and down 4-45%, then come back.
Im well aware of the ram memory usage of 3.1gb which is why im running the monitor app, to keep an eye on it.

 

pc specs

I5 - 2500k (oc to 3.8ghz)

32gb Kingston DDR3 RAM

Nvidia 1070 8gb Vram

main SSD: Evo 860 1TB mSata
game SSD : Evo 850 500GB

Game Version: Skyrim (with all DLCs) 1.9.32.0.8 (should be up to date, just reinstalled whole thing working on mod conflicts)

 

 

so i guess the question is....

Why is the game freezing at only 1200mb of RAM used? still lots of headroom there......

and my pc specs are WELL above what is required for the game

Beth games are notorious for not liking overclocks. Might try running it at the stock clock, and see what happens. I suspect that your system is CPU-choked though, as the vid card is WAY more powerful than the CPU can feed.

So, what is the numerical representation of "Mods out the ying-yang"? Because it's possible you have too many, or haven't made a bashed patch etc.

im aware about the cpu/gpu.. been looking at getting Gen3 cpu but everything i see is $2-300 just for cpu.

according to NMM, 157 plugins, 158 mods ... no bash patchs. have played with it a bit before the massive crash that caused me to go mod by mod to eliminate conflicts.

well i tried dropping the OC, seemed to be a little better but not much.
I also dug into ENBoost with SSME. i found out week or 2 ago SSME was "outdated" so havnt tried it. Only found out today that it was patched into SKSE.
got the Memory blocks log ... was maxxing out the memory blocks. i bumped it up, that seems to have worked. just played 2.5hrs with no crashing. memoryblockslog is sitting at 580/256

granted, i am running some heavy graphics mods, but i tried to limit as much as i could to 2k, and not use the 4k ones (because i was having issues)

i will have to play with wrye bash a little more.

so its a been about a week.. and have had 4 ctd since last posting.
2 conflicts

1 have yet to figure out

and 1 due to maximum memory usage. blocks log was reading 769/256, which is JUST past where i set it.

 

when i made this post, i was getting 4 ctd in an hour!!!
