am i still able to download mods to NMM instead of vortex?

I think NMM has a much better layout and it will automatically fix conflicts unlike vortex. and its a pain the ass to have to manually download mods you want to install is there a way i can switch between NMM and vortex downloading?

Yes, the button, even though it 'says' Vortex, if you don't have vortex installed, but, DO have NMM installed, then NMM will be the program to handle links of that nature.

You may have to associate .nxm files with the application you want to handle them - either Vortex or NMM.

Nexusmods has no idea what application you are using - it just tosses the mod and expects you to catch it.

Recently a number of posts in various forums have claimed that NMM automatically fixes conflicts. That's not true, either in the case of mod conflicts (overlapping files) or load order conflicts (plugin conflicts).

 

NMM doesn't automatically fix conflicts created when there are overlapping files. When these conflicts are detected, NMM presents you with the following set of options:

 

 

 

 

 

You decide which option to choose, not NMM.

 

NMM doesn't automatically resolve load order conflicts. If there's a load order issue, you use LOOT (or manual sorting) to fix those conflicts, not NMM.
