Changing Mod Manager

I had been using vortex to manage fo4, but decided that I would instead like to use MO2 because I was not the biggest fan of the layout of vortex as well as the inability to manually change load order. I was easily able to uninstall vortex, but after attempting to download a mod on MO2 via the nexus, whenever I pressed download through mod manager it still wrote downloading to vortex even though I had uninstalled it already, unchecked the use for download to mod manager button in vortex and checked the same button in MO2. I've also attempted clearing cache, cookies of chrome and have reset the installer, nexus and my pc multiple times. Is there a setting in nexus I am missing or will I only be able to manually download mods?

I would like an answer to this as well. I have completely reloaded the OS on my PC and Nexus Mods still refuses to serve up my files to MO2. Has to be something on NexusMods side and really need a fix or my sub is pretty much useless and might as well cancel.

It literally cannot be something on the Nexus Mods side. It's your browser that decides what to do with nxm:// files. The website can't alter that.
