Importing a weapon to Fallout

Alright, I have my mesh in the geck/fallout, it all works, and i can use it in-game. Just, the texture will not go on it, whatever I do. I have set up new texture sets and I have tried to apply the textures in nifskope, to no avail. How, once the mesh/nif is working do i put my texture/s on it? I have the normal, diffuse, gloss and specular. Do I make each one its own dds, or do I merge them all or some of them?

Thanks :)

So, if I have a texture, but my weapon model is in four parts, do I have to have a separate texture for each part or does the single texture still work? I used the replace similar parts method in nifskope so my model is in four parts.

So to answer your first question about the textures, your spec map goes in the alpha channel of the Normal map. If you need transparency, that is the alpha channel of your diffuse map, if you need to mask reflection, that is a separate map usually noted by having _m at the end of the name and goes in the last slot of the textures in Nifscope. Now when you say you apply the textures and it doesn't stick, how are you doing this in nifscope? Could you post a pic with your BSshaderTextureSet open? Also your textures need to be under the path of the textures folder inside the Data folder for them to work.

And yes you can assign one map to multiple parts in Nifscope.
