gambolmaker
Hi, I have an empty world in Creation Kit. Now I want to edit it, and I know how to do that (or I'm learnign as I go along). One thing that bugs me however is that I have no idea where on my world I am. Say I want to put a village in the southwest, or a mountain range in the north... how do I get there? What I would like is a map of my world, which displays all the cells and allows me to click on one and then I end up there in the render window. Is there such a feature? I apologize if this has been asked or answered before, but I can't seem to find an answer to this.
greyday01
The B key toggles cell borders so you can see when your camera view crosses from one cell to the other while editing in the ck.With your world space name in the world space box you can see all the cells in your world space and their coordinates and names if you gave the cells one listed on the left. If you select one of the cells in your world space all the objects in it will be listed on the right. Double clicking the cell or one of the objects in the cell will move your camera to that point. Giving Descriptive names to the cells can help If while in game you want to tell what cell you are in you will need to become familiar with the landmarks and terrain. Or you could place some large objects as markers to be removed later.
gambolmaker
None of that gives me an actual overview of my world though...
agerweb
The only overview you going to get is in the region editor. Its not that helful but at least you can get the cell numbers roughly.
Di0nysys
The Heightmap editor could do the trick for you, but its a toss up whether it'll function for you or not as it's not a very stable tool.
NexusComa
Click the top left icon tick Skyrim as a master file and press ok. Once loaded go to the cell view world spaces and set that to Tamriel.Make sure you have the snap to angle icon on the top bar off and also don't use the left of right mouse clicks in the render/edit window.Use the middle mouse to pan along until you find something you know. Then pan along to where you want to be. The top of the cell view windowwill tell you what wilderness you are in. You can also do your edits in a cell then copy the whole thing to the wilderness in one shot.Warning: be extra extra extra careful when editing anything "outside". You can see a top down view of everything at:Elderscrolls Wikia Map Also they have a few maps here that are really incredible likeA Quality World MapSatellite world mapHigh Quality 3D MapSome let you zoom all the way down. Other than that I myself know of no other way.
NexusComa
Some of them map mods are not really maps ... they are the actual rendered land.
gambolmaker
Thanks for all your replies. I found this tutorial http://tambomedia.com/Site_Pages/tutorials/tips.html#_Border which does pretty much what I need :)
